We went here because friends said they had good food, live music, and our dogs could be on the patio. Well, the dogs had to go back to the car, the music ended at 8pm not long after we arrived, and while the carbonara was excellent and the presentation of every dish was fabulous, the other dishes were so-so or not to our liking. Decent wine list and one member of our party really enjoyed the cocktail eh ordered -- mango mojito. I'd say come for drinks and maybe appetizers or dessert, enjoy the fireplaces, and check when eh music ends.

Was here recently (in Moonridge) for a crafting weekend and we decided to venture out one night for a yummy dinner. We headed over to Black Diamond Tavern because some of the girls we were traveling with had remembered it fondly. We were NOT disappointed!! From the super juicy burgers (half pound!) to the chicken salad, we were all impressed with the quality of food they offered. Also, kudos to any kitchen staff who can actually make a medium rare burger these days, you'd be surprised even after asking staff "Can they REALLY make it medium rare" and being told "Yes!" so many fail....you won't have that problem here, my burger was perfectly cooked and so juicy and flavorful. I was very impressed and happy to get it.All their food was yummy and the staff did their best to make sure our large party was happy and full!Had a little blip while were were there, I misplaced my keys in the ladies room and we went wild looking for them when finally one of the great staff members found them (someone had JUST turned them in!) and once again, we were on our way. Thank you, Black Diamond Tavern!! We will be back!! <3

This place has traditional great food, and PIE! Glorious pie! The portions are big and the service is friendly, with a view of the main street through 'The Village'. ** Do note: they only take cash **

They make fresh sandwiches at time of order. We always get the TAB and it is HUGE.Everything is fresh and they give you a choice of bread and tons of sandwich toppings included in the order. Also they have really good fries with seasoning salt. They are a little on the pricey-er side of sandwiches, but this is no Subway.

Come in and see why the Peppercorn Grille has become a local favorite. We offer the largest and most versatile menu in Big Bear. Choose from Certified Angus Beef, Seafood, Chicken, Pasta, Specialty Salads, Brick Oven Baked Pizza and more. All soups, bread
The highly rated Peppercorn Grille did not disappoint. This local family owned establishment offers a comfortable setting with tasteful decor and a limited outdoor seating area in which to watch the street foot traffic. The menu is mostly Italian fare with some Americana items here and there, especially with the meat dishes and appetizers. The food and service were very good and the portions most generous. Compared with the competition in Big Bear Lake Peppercorn Grille is expensive but worth a visit. Reservations are necessary during peak dining hours.

We have tried every other breakfast place in Big Bear and hands down Lumber Jack has good service, healthy portions, and made to order food. For 2 people its 29.00 dollars. Place is always busy so expect a wait to get the food out to table. Fresh coffee and unlimited refills, just ask. We found out it is family owned and operated.

Stopped for breakfast on a Friday. Sevice was fast and friendly. Food was great. DH had chicken fried steak, DD had cornedbeef hash eggs Benedict, I had machaca beef breakfast burrito. Portions were ample. Patio was lovely. One little thing, I wish patio was nonsmoking. We were almost done or would have moved inside.

Great hamburgers. Quarter pounder, Third pounder, and 2/3 pounder - 2 parties. I think you could even get a full pound of meat. Lots of fixins and a side. Great bun. The price was very reasonable for a great burger. Pitchers of beer were available and cheap for a resort area. This is a sma!! Quaint restaurant with small picnic type tables and bench seats. Also outside deck seating. I think my 2/3 pounder was about $11. This is a real burger. We will definitely be back.

The only negative is no mimos or bloody mary's! Otherwise this place absolutely rocks. Old school diner style food. Bad a** hashbrowns. Super yummy bacon. Huge pancakes. Biscuits & Gravy. Everything you would want and need in a breakfast and always cooked to perfection. Large portions. Totally reasonably priced. Service on point. Yeah, you're a little crammed in and if you show up after 8am you might have a wait, but its worth it.

Historic Big Bear is alive at the Captain's Anchorage----complete with a ghost named George. The restaurant has been a tradition in Big Bear since 1946. Originally called the Sportsman's Tavern, the Captain's Anchorage has enjoyed visits by Hollywood celeb
We were a party of 5 and were able to seat immediately. Food was good and service was a little slow but okay. I didn't give it 5 stars because it didn't WOW me but was decent. We had 2 kids with us and they offered a kids meal so that helped.
