Recently my wife and I dashed into Islands for a meal after a meeting. It was the right choice. The menu is just varied enough to accommodate a late evening light dinner. With an Hawai'ian flair and surfers plying their hobbies on huge TV screens strategically placed, it's a good venue for young couples and families with kids. Prices are moderate and the hamburgers generous and very tastey... I usually prefer "the Maui" because of the wonderful filling(s). For our latest visit and because the hour was late, we both ordered the Tortilla Soup. It is one of the better restaurant made Tortilla Soups we've had. Be forwarned though, unless you like your soup served at a tepid temperature, you'd better specify you'd like your soup served HOT. Otherwise the service was quick and pleasant.

Wasnât sure about a chain place for a steak but the seared rib was cooked perfectly and the sides were great also. Table payment machine is the future, avoiding waiting for a server. Great place for steak, beer and sport.

Located right in Santa Anita Erstfield Center, yet not busy at all on a Saturday during the busy shopping week before Christmas. Reason? Presentation is not bad, but food is sub par. Tri-tip, soup, and salad, are all tasteless.

...for barbecue ribs, pizza, chicken and especially the tri tip. Not surprisingly, large extended families seem to come here to enjoy the good value and good service. One of a half dozen or so outlets scatted throughout Los Angeles county. Look for one near you. Recommended.

Meet with a group friends for dinner. The food was good. I had the baby back ribs. I found them to be tender and the sauce was pretty good. My wife had the smoked chicken and she said that it was just okay. I tried a little bit of hers and it needed a little more taste to it. Maybe a little more sauce. The fun part is it's one of those places that you throw your peanut shells on the floor and at each other. The were spot on with their service. I would venture to go back to eat here.

The food was delicious. I ordered fried chicken one night that was the best I've ever eaten, great flavor and a good crunch. Tuna sandwich was good too. I also had a crispy chicken salad one night. This restaurant is the room service vendor for the Hilton Garden Inn in Arcadia. They bring it right to your door on a big tray. They have cute tiny bottles of condiments too!

The Bartenders are true Mixologists and thoughtful in their combinations without the arrogance found in some of their counterparts. The food is consistently wonderful with seasonal adjustments to the menu.My budget prevents me from enjoying this establishment as frequently as I might like to, and as a 'value' I feel the higher than market pricing is about 10 to 15% high. However they appear to be pretty constant in their full restaurant and bar with outside seating as well.I do strongly recommend this restaurant if you are not budget conscious.

Small, funky and friendly. Breakfast and sandwiches. Awesome scones. Very local. A little hard to find the first time.
Mary's Market is a gem. Friendly, helpful people and a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere and I haven't even mentioned the food. The food is great by the way, they do a fabulous and inventive breakfast menu, good coffee too. The interior is like an Aladdin's cave of retro, loads of interesting stuff to look at everywhere. Don't miss it.

The Derby never disappoints! Our party of 4 was seated immediately (with reservations) on an early Saturday evening. Our waiter, Jim, was fantastic. One of the best we've had there. Food, as always, was prepared properly, served at the appropriate temperature and very tasty. We all had some form of steak and they were cooked perfectly. Sides are generous and dinners come with vegetable & choice of potato or rice. One of the couples was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and Jim brought out a Baked Alaska for dessert. He was always on the spot, without being intrusive. Will definitely ask for him in the future.
