Things to do in Porterville
Best beer selection, best burger, and now best steak in town. Great industrial decor with an owner that is usually on site and engaging. Iâve been coming in for beer and and burgers ever since they opened, but now, in their new, larger location, theyâve added some steak specials. And they are special! I had a thin cut rib eye with grilled zucchini and mashed potatoes and I couldnât be happier! This is a âmust tryâ place for anyone in the Porterville area!
I purchased a Groupon for here. I had boneless BBQ wings and a tropical fruit smoothie. My husband had a chili cheese dog, a sandwich, and a smoothie also. Everything was really good!
First time visit but definitely not the last. We went for my husband's birthday. We both ordered the seven ounce filet. His medium well and mine rare. They were both cooked and seasoned to perfection. The loaded mashed potatoes had so much flavor and a very large serving. I had the green beans and my husband had the brussel sprouts. The green beans were so good. Hubby gobbled up the brussel sprouts so apparently they were pretty good. They served a sweet tasting bread and butter and both meals game with soup or salad. The salads were good too. The service was very friendly and kept up on refills and such. The service couldn't have been better. The cooks here, know what they are doing. The desserts looked amazing but we were so full from the meal we had to pass. I thought the dining area was going to be much larger and there would be a wait but we got right in. Total cost of meal 62.00 and worth every penny of it.
My grandkids and I like to go to the Airway Cafe on Sunday mornings before church. The atmosphere is Great, the food is Great, and the price is something I can live with. I do wish they would consider making a children's menu, we all know kids don't eat like adults and should not have the same portions or price unless that's what you want to do. My grandkids always like seeing planes take off and land, as well as look at and enjoy the many different model planes hanging from the ceiling. Great job Airway Cafe, see you soon.
Went by after a long day of work. Had some tri-tip and it was the best ever by far. Also tried their chicken and dumpling soup and their fresh pasta salad as well. Ambience is pretty laid back and casual. Friendly staff as well. Will definitely go back again.

My partner ordered a sandwich and our server assumed he wanted French fries, and did not offer the other 2 choices that came with it. Once he had finished with his "bottomless fries", did not ask if he wanted more. Our bill came to $41.74, we gave $45 dollars and received $3 back, not sure where the 26 cents went???? Also, the new electronic machine that you can order deserts, drink refills, etc., had a game called Presto which did not disclose that their was a charge to play this, and we were charged 99 cents for one game...we told our server that their should be some kind of disclosure, but she didn't offer to take this off the bill. This was a pricey lunch for this small town. Drinks were terrible, but she made no other offer, either. We will NOT be back to this establishment. While looking at the tab, the server hovered over us with constant questions if it was ok, not letting us look at it by ourselves....I've been to Applebee's all over Florida, and they are ok, but this place, OMG....I can't see it lasting too long in this town.

For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
Came here to eat with my boyfriend and our kids. Service was great, food was great! We even got a 10% discount since we were staying at the nearby Best Western hotel.

Breakfast served all day. Daily Specials. Beer & Wine available. Homemade soup and large selection of salads and sandwiches.
We would never have come to Porterville if I hadn't booked a room at the Motel 6 on hotels.com. We were looking for a stopping point that is pet friendly. Motel 6 allowed two pets no charge. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. As we drove in the late evening dark, my husband kept chiding me about how far off the 99 we were, about 45 minutes. Lucky us. This morning when we got into the car this morning, we were pleasently surprised at the beautiful mountains surrounding us. Then we found Jenny Lynn's. Breakfast us plentiful, affordable, and delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy and poached egg. The gravy is delicious and meaty. The egg cooked just right. My only complaint is maybe they microwaved the biscuit, bottom was a little hard. The flavour is great. My husband had french toast with bacon. He was very pleased. It is the first time in many many years he hasn't complained about not having crispy bacon. He was also impressed with how thick the bacon was. Great experience. Run don't walk to eat at Jenny Lynn's. You will love the ambiance of the restaurant and the City of Porterville.

The Oak Pit Steak House was awarded for Porterville Reader's Choice Awards for: Best Fine Dining, Best Business Lunch, Best Steak, Voted Best Locally Owned Restaurant in Porterville. We have high expections from our staff to have superior customer service
Ate here for dinner mostly because we wanted to see the football game while eating dinner. The atmosphere is pretty echoey so that made it a little difficult to enjoy the game. My mashed potatoes were excellent but I ordered tri-tip medium rare and it and out like shoe leather.

From the beautifully carved bear statue at the front entrance to the incredibly decorated interior, this Porterville Black Bear Diner location stands out in a crowd like nobodyâs business. Add to that a friendly staff and home-style food thatâll knock you
I've eaten at other Black Bear Diner locations, including their original many years ago. Generally I've been pleased with the chain, but this location wasn't sub-par. Perhaps it was an off night, but I didn't get that feeling. The restaurant was perhaps a little over half full when we visited at non-peak hours in the afternoon. We and 4 other patrons that arrived before us all had to wait to be seated, despite the many empty tables. The server was working diligently but appeared to be covering too many tables in different parts of the restaurant and was unable to do so thoroughly. Not really her fault, she was covering more than one should alone. The food was warm. Not hot, not cold, just warm -- and had clearly sat for awhile. Again, our server was busy running around the restaurant seeing to various customers while hot food sat and lost steam.Side portions were sad. It appeared that the fries which accompanied my entree came out of the someone's personal budget, so they were sparsely populated on our plates.Overall, I wouldn't return to this particular diner -- but I would give Black Bear Diner elsewhere a visit.
