I had a big breakfast - eggs, meat, hash browns. Polite and efficient service. Not too crowded a late morning weekday. Asked for 'crisp' hash browns and got them a little charred on the outside and a hot but not totally cooked inside. (Better than some places do them, but not perfect.)It is an 'open' diner - no privacy; no way to avoid overhearing the table next to me. But it was not offensive. And the food was very good. I'll probably try it the next time I need a fast good meal in the area. Probably OK for a business meal if you don't need any privacy.

We go to work in the car show every year and every year the wait staff dress in 50's attire. It just makes the visit so much nicer. The food is great, it's close to the faripark, friendly service and happy people. It has everything we want and need. See you next year!

This is a chain restaurant, specialising in steak and American cuisine, that I have never visited before. I suppose it is like a Longhorn or an Outback Steakhouse with it's booth seating and menu of American appetisers and entree's, including a range of steaks. The bar looked quite lively and the restaurant is pretty large, which is where I sat in a booth for dinner. I went for the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, which were nice but a little too sweet, followed by the 12oz New York Strip Steak. The steak was very tasty and tender and it came with some nice fireside beans, chunky fries and some beef stew soup. All very nice. I also ordered a side of broccoli to go with my steak. All in all it was a good to very good American meal. A little bit more expensive than an Outback for similar food. I paid US$51.55 for my meal (inc. Tax) without any drinks.

I had no reservation but sat at the bar. Ashley provided great service. The patrons around me provided great companyHuge and perfectly cooked T bone, great baked potato, some other courses and ice cream. I was ready for a napOff the beaten track but a lot of regulars. Worth going to for sure
When we arrived we went directly to the 'handicapped entrance', as the person I was lunching with required a walker. The door was LOCKED! (This was during their normal business hours).... I rang the bell and an employee came to let us in. We were told to seat ourselves, then handed a menu and told to go down the stairs to place our order when ready. (Not sure how a solo handicapped diner would be able to do this??) But I placed and paid for both orders. (I was rather SHOCKED when asked to choose the amt. of the tip (15-20%)!!!! BEFORE having ANY contact with the 2 different people who would later be bringing our food and bringing our drinks... VERY TACKY! When our tea arrived it tasted "off" neither of us liked it, so I had to walk back down the stairs to discuss it with the teen cashier. I told her that it did NOT taste like normal iced tea. She said they ONLY have mango (NO PLAIN) iced tea, and offered NO other options. Even after telling them I was allergic to mangos!! Luckily there was a young male staff member who stepped in to help by suggested lemonade. Which I greatfully accepted as an alternative. The "remodel" consisted of newly upolstered booths, new lighting fixtures, and varnishing the wood. Along with a little paint. Nothing special... The food was mediocre at best. My sandwich was BARELY luke warm. It came with a choice of broccoli slaw or french fries. I asked if sweet potato fries were an option, and was told they were ONLY available as an appetizer... The 'shrimp & chicken salad' contained only 3 SMALL shrimp! Rick's FORMER restaurant was lovely. There were tablecloths on every table. This NEW restaurant did not put so much as a paper placemat on the tables... Our bill for 2 Lemonade, 1 lunch salad & one (lukewarm) sandwich came to just over $40.00 considering we had to wait for them to unlock the handicapped entrance (during normal business hours, were told to seat ourselves, had to place our own order, walk back to the cashier to resolve the drink pronlem, and the food being just mediocre, it was all in all a rather disappointing experience. Neither of us have any plans to return there in the future.

"I have always wanted to find a restaurant where I could eat with confidence knowing that whoever was making the food was as committed to healthy food as I was. First, I talked to a well respected chef on the Central Coast named Ryan Gromfin. Ryan complet
The Moxie Cafe is dedicated to making healthy meals that taste good. They have an extensive menu and are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The salmon dinner and scallops are my favorite!

Didn't want to drive to a restaurant in town so we decided to try the Vintners Grill downstairs in the Radisson Santa Maria. Good was great, although i did thunk it was slightly pricy. Portions and quality was definitely above average so i didn't really mind. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly with a choice of good sauces. Shrimp was fresh. Too much to finish so I was really grateful there are fridges in the rooms.

A dozen or so of family members had dinner. We were set-up in an odd shaped area (kind of like a triangular space). Service was slow-one server was assigned and had to basically do everything herself. Restaurant upon arrival was very loud (though to be fair a NFL playoff game was in its later stages on the televisions around the bar and restaurant).Menu is extensive though I would describe it as more oriented to burgers and tacos than fine meals. Family group had multiple different food selections and opinions of quality are quite varied- about 50 % were satisfied, most thought food was ok but multiple members needed to send food back as it did not come as ordered and one essentially never got their meal back until everyone was ready to leave. She argued she shouldn't have to pay since she never got her meal to eat and after the waitress argued with her, the waitress returned with her meal boxed up (still including items specifically asked to be removed) and no change in the invoice but seemingly to add insult a gift card to be used towards a future visit.

My brother recently moved back to Orcutt, where we had spent a good portion of our childhood. At first, I was a little taken aback -- the Orcutt I remembered was a "blink and you'll miss it" street on the way to or from Hwy 101 and much bigger and better things. Imagine my surprise to find Orcutt has grown up, and is a lovely little community with much more to offer than I could have imagined. We visited Jack's Restaurant on the first day of my visit and the meal was a revelation. I enjoyed the Pacific Cod, which was moist, tender, and flavorful, and served with yummy sauteed seasonal vegetables. My brother had a Reuben Sandwich served with crisp and tasty French fries - and even for a man with a healthy appetite, the sandwich was very generous. The next day, we decided to try Jack's again for breakfast, and were not disappointed. I enjoyed a veggie omelette, and was so occupied with it that I didn't notice what my brother had! Served with crisp home fries and plenty of good, hot coffee, it was a great way to start the day. After a day spent unloading and unpacking, we decided the quick stroll to Jack's for dinner was probably the easiest for us, so we returned that evening for a third time, and the third time really was a charm. My brother enjoyed Chicken Fried Steak (which he shared with me -- YUM!!) -- the steak was tender, the gravy was seasoned just right. As for me, I couldn't go home to Santa Maria without having a Santa Maria style Tri-tip dinner, and it was definitely worth the long drive from Washington State. The servers were friendly and attentive, and judging by the crowds who were happily working on their own meals, this is a very popular spot. We would definitely recommend Jack's Restaurant to anyone looking for a good, home-cooked meal!

Wonderful Cafe, a great place for breakfast. On my recent trip I visited twice, the first time I tried there sliders to get a taste of a variety of there breakfast flavors. I enjoyed them - the bacon was wonderful and the sausage was very nice, eggs were cooked well and the bread was like a Hawaiian sweet bread. Now on to the super breakfast of the green chili Verde omelette.... my new favorite. The pork fell apart and the chili sauce was wonderful with just enough bite. Wonderful fresh ingredients with everything cooked to order. I had a fresh biscuit with this as well. I also had there wonderful orange juice. Well there is way too much food - two people could share both dishes, especially if you were a person of a certain age. Man if I lived there I would be going a couple times a week. The customer service was excellent. It is also a welcoming place even if you are by yourself with seating at the counter available. There are many locals that use this place especially in the early part of the morning. If I had a flexible schedule I would go mid- morning. It will be crowded but maybe not so much. Parking is off the street. I would say well worth the visit, even if you are traveling off of 101- its not that far.
