Casual but with very good food for the price - just what I hoped for in a Chowder House. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lobster roll was one of the best I've had (I spend a lot of time around Boston and Cape Cod), but wife's haddock sandwich was excellent, Sam Adams draft hit the spot, french fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Lots of fun and we'll go back again for sure.

This is my third visit here and itâs always a problem. The staff is very young and lacks the experience to run a restaurant. Some training and hiring a manager would help. We booked an 8:00pm reservation on Open Table for 7 people. On arrival, we saw many empty tables , including a table for 7 with a reserved sign.We were told there would be a wait because people were âlingering â. I asked if the reserved table was for us and was told it was not.I mentioned again that we had a reservation. At 8:25pm, we were seated at the table for 7 with the reserved sign. Okay...First thing our server told us - last call for drinks and food, kitchen closing!! What???Placed our orders, 2 wines come out, no other drinks, finally Food comes out, asked about drinks, finally drinks come out.9:10pm , as we and another table are scrambling to eat our food, they turn all the lights on and BLAST the music. We get it... you want to go home. So, why take a reservation for 8:00pm, why seat them so late??!The food and drinks were so so.Skip this restaurant !Hey heatherw883, We strive for our customers satisfaction. I would love to speak with you on possibly giving us a second chance! My name is Ashley and I am the Event Marketing Coordinator and my email is [email protected]. Let's get together so we can resolve these issues!

To management: last time I ever come here. Why? When 5 drunk, grown men take over your bar area (which is directly next to the dining room) and start talking LOUDLY about their bank accounts, their golf game, women's anatomies and dropping F-bombs every other word and you still do NOTHING to shut them up - then that's when I take my business elsewhere. For well over an hour, these neanderthals kept on one-upping each other and using foul language. It ruined my family's evening. That's $700 I could've spent somewhere else. (note: one of the men was owner of Campo di Bocce. He basically blurted it out so everyone could here)

Drove over from the nearby Los Gatos Lodge. Had made a noon reservation on Open Table Saturday morning. Were seated promptly in a requested booth. Drink orders promptly taken and delivered to the table. Food orders then taken and delivered in short order. My chicken pesto sandwich was delicious. Two salads ordered were also excellent.Great atmosphere, friendly and professional service and great food.Highly recommend!

Dinner for four - we tried several dishes: scallops, ceviche, octopus, mushroom risotto, clams, cheese plate, duck. Alas, they were out of short ribs. Everything was terrific. We started with the cheese plate and drinks, and then they just kept bringing out dishes as they were ready. Bread is terrific; we went through 3 servings. Service was attentive and informative. $250 including tax for 7 dishes, 5 alcoholic drinks, 1 soft drink, 3 desserts and 3 coffees.

Came with 3 friends. We had reservations but that doesnât give you outside seating as itâs first come, first serve. When we arrived, outside was full as it was a beautiful day. Inside we went which was quite empty (everyone was outside!). Service is always very good here. 3 of us got our usual Chinese chicken salad which is quite delicious! Great spot for lunch!!

I have mixed reactions to this restaurant. Great fish served very nicely. Beautiful interiors and nice place. Do not allow them to sit you in the middle - extremely noisy with screaming kids - walk away if they sit you there. Service is prompt but rushed - barely finished and someone scooping my plate up. They took my appetizer away even though not finished and served dinner before a chance to finish. They seriously need to slow down - never thought I would say that.

Excellent food - the wild mushroom soup and the special beef filet were wonderful. My husband very much enjoyed his duck confit. The service was also outstanding - our waiter was very attentive and pleasant under difficult circumstances. The disappointing part of the evening was the extreme level of noise in the dining room. We were seated across from a very loud, rude celebratory party of 12. Since we could not hear each other talk, we rushed through our dinner to escape. There was probably nothing the management could have done about the situation at that time, but it certainly ruined our evening. Until some changes in policy or the physical set-up of the restaurant are made, I would not recommend Nick's for a special evening such as the one we were anticipating.
