Enjoyed some brisket, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn bread. The corn bread was the best part. The other items were ok. They had a large variety of different bbq sauces to try, which I did like. Service was good. I thought the portions were small for the price though.

Classic restaurant very popular with locals and truckers, standard american fare at good prices, but very crowded because of it's popularity. Sandy (the owner) has been a waitress at a couple of Gilroy restaurants including Jeffery's. But Jeffery's closed and she bought this restaurant. Since everyone in town knows her, they flock to the restaurant. Sundays are quite busy, but they manage to keep the customer flowing in and out.

We tried to eat here after a very long day of air travel, but although the posted closing is midnight, and we arrived when they were still open, the kitchen was closed. They need to rethink this...either they are open until 12 or they are not.

New steak and chop house restaurant.
I love this restaurant, love the owners and staff and love that it's in a historic (and likely) haunted building.Their soups and salads are really wonderful. You can't beat their steaks and other cuts of beef. Short ribs with polenta is absolutely delicious. Terrific burger here and they also serve a great brunch on the weekends. When my family is celebrating something momentous -- birthdays, graduation or anniversaries -- this is where we go.

Meats are excellent. The side are limited to potato salad, cole slaw or beans. Went here a couple times during my stay in Gilroy. The pulled pork was my favorite. The garlic bread is also good. I wasnât a fan of the corn bread as it tasted off.

The Black Bear Diner Gilroy excels not only in creating menu items that look as great as they taste, but in making it nearly impossible for you to pass up dessert when the time comes. Our employees are the âbest of the bestâ and will cater to your every n
Another home run from Black Bear! We have been to many, and they are all great so far! This one is smaller, but just as good. The place is clean, including the restrooms, and the staff is really friendly! The food is great, and the portions huge! Lots of parking too!

We stopped in Gilroy for dinner to take a break on a road trip. The reviews here seemed good so we decided to try it. The service was fine. The place was very busy. Our pastas were fine but pretty bland. The portions were large. We had to ask for bread with our meal. This would be a nice place to take grandma for Motherâs Day, but if youâre looking for a tasty or interesting meal, look elsewhere.

The restaurant does not serve alcoholic beverages. And the ambiance is more like a cafe than a restaurant. But ~ Itâs always perfect food. And the friends I bring donât seem to mind. Our time spent here is full of enjoyment. This is definitely my favorite place to eat dinner in Gilroy.

We chose ODâs from great ratings on a map app, and we were not disappointed. I had the short stack (two huge pancakes) and was served warmed syrup (awesome!). My family had the Rosebud (eggs, hash browns, with a biscuit and gravy all together) and they said it was amazing. Service was great and prices very reasonable.
