Others may have had a satisfactory experience at this restaurant, but we did not. The $12 Cobb salad filled only half the bowl. They promised chicken bacon avocados and hard boiled egg were scarcely in evidence. We sent it back and ask them to take it off our bill. I am not the kind of person to do that but I feel it was required in this case. So then halfway through my Patty melt I discovered that there was no meat in the second half. Meanwhile the waitress mentioned that the problems with the food were endemic. The waitress took the cobb salad off the bill, and comped us a Blondie. A blondie is like a very small pizookie, and it was good. So, a 5-star rating for waitress Lisa and a 1-star rating for the restaurant.

We had reservations at The Grove for dinner our first night at the Resort and it was a wonderful experience! The are a AAA Four Diamond Award recipient. The ambience is wonderful at The Grove and for Service is fantastic. On Monday nights they have a Promotion for a Signature Prix Fixe Menu for $45 per person, which we chose and shared, since my girlfriend and I didn't think we could each eat all the food it offered. We chose the Lump Crab Cake for the first course, then the Filet Mignon with a Twice Baked Potato for the Second Course and then for the Third Course a Creme Brulee. Prior to each Course they brought you a special Treat. The first course it was a Shrimp With Avocado Sauce and Spices, on the second course it was a Cleansing Jalapeno Pineapple Shooter and then after your third course it was a mini Macaroon. Everything we ate that night was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful! Their Wine List is extensive and moderately priced. I would recommend this Restaurant if you are staying at the Resort or visiting San Diego or just live in San Diego and want a wonderful experience.

Went in for a quick bite. Got popcorn chicken nuggets and they were delicious. They did not taste like rubber. Service was excellent and very fast. In the Viejas Outlet Mall and a great place for a quick bite.

Coming down the mountain into San Diego, you might find yourself in Alpine looking for a quick bite. Resist the urge to hit the usual fastfood joints, and drive to the back of the strip mall. There you will find foodie heaven. This is the best gyro I have ever tasted. The pita bread is not baked. It took a spa day and showed up fresh for work showered and powdered. Normally clinging for a free ride, the lettuce in this creation dances a sideshow of its own, the feta falling dust from the collision of two angels. The sauce and the meat are indescribable, not to be belittled by words. A truck backs up to your plate with hot fries, but you will eat them all. When you walk out to your car, satisfaction will be riding shotgun having tied tin cans to your bumper. Happy honeymoon. Go home and cry yourself to sleep.

Our family of five enjoyed a late breakfast (12:30) at Francoâs Flapjack Breakfast House. The portions were generous, the food was delicious! I especially enjoyed my California frittata, and several of my kiddos had the French toast. Thought my teenage son was going to explode, trying to eat the double cheeseburger. It was HUGE!!

We finished off a day of birding by pulling 9 people together in our group and indulging in delicious pub fare long side phenomenal drinks and a small selection of desserts. Our server seemed to be very busy servicing other tables, quite possibly they were short handed. I noticed that the bartender seemed to be able to handle a lot of volume but the tables were being neglected, at least ours was when it came to getting the desserts we would highly recommend Alpine for the beer and possibly the brisket, pulled pork anything in the chef suggests!

I liked the Bad Boy IIPA at Alpine best. The outdoor seating needs a lanai for better shade plus more comfortable outdoor seating.

Stopped here for breakfast. They have indoor and lots of outdoor seating, and a nice breeze made for pleasant morning in August.I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast which I could have split easily with someone it was so much. Really good! it was smothered in butter and cream cheese icing drizzled on top, served with warm syrup. I also had a side of sausage. The rest of the family had a blue berry muffin, Denver omelette, hashbrowns, sour dough toast and fruit. Everything was tasty but the hashbrowns needed salt but were nicely browned. The bathroom was clean, the wait staff was friendly and checked on us frequently.Would definitely go back.
