Lovely atmospheric and decorated restaurant inside the Dusit complex.The service is so fast that you you could get your starters and main dish almost together, so be careful.Pilipina waitresses very friendly and accomodating but can't understand the names of the Thai dishes. So you have to literally point the dish you are ordering.Food is superb, all being said. With only one night at the Hilton Cairo Heliopolis the dining choice was extensive but I'm glad I decided on Lan Tania. This was the fourth time that we have dined at The Birdcage on two separate visits to Cairo. What a wonderful restaurant it is, excellent choice and we have not had a poor meal yet. Everything cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The staff are attentive without being obtrusive and so very friendly. Would recommend trying the Egyptian wine which can easily compare to anything (other than vintage) from Spain/Australia/Italy etc, the latter being imported and much more expensive.
