A great family owned restaurant in Cairo, Ga specializing in chicken. They also have burgers, steaks, and seafood.
Passed right by this place for years but finally decided to drive over to check it out, after I got fed up with Maryland's Dry Fried Chicken Thomasville,Ga. This place is not for fine dining if that is what you are looking for. The décor is dated ,but clean .If your looking for Grandmas Sunday fried chicken ,you have found the spot! Before I even got in the door I saw lots of cars going through the drive-thru for their take out. Inside had quite a few people coming and going for 3 in the afternoon. You order at the counter off the menu boards , pay, and get your drink cups for self service. The cashier gives you a plastic number to put on your table and your order than is brought to you by a server. I ordered the all white fried chicken 4 pc. dinner with fries and roll. Had an order of gizzards and onion rings. My lady ordered the 4 wing plate. They gave us extra pieces, because the server said the wings were a bit smaller, which was nice. I even got an extra piece on my plate too. The chicken is so light and so juicy. The gizzards were dusted with light flouring and cooked to perfection. The onion rings appeared at first to be just ordinary, but they had the sweetest battered onions. We ate everyone of the onion rings and the gizzards! We took home the rest of our chicken. You know fried chicken is as good as Grandma's from your youth, if you can eat it cold the next day. Wish I had gotten a bucket to have taken home to eat cold. Mr. Chicks is good hot or cold. Sorry this Southerner didn't take home one of their pieces of sliced cakes wrapped in cellophane. That red velvet looked mighty good. Next time I'm not going home without a slice of cake ; so many to choose from. Friendly service; aim to be helpful at the counter on your first visit. It will definitely not be my last visit ,worth the drive.

We go there often but lately the service has been horrible. The past 2 times we placed our order in drive thru and when we get to the window our order is all wrong and they don't understand you. Very frustrating. We need another ice cream place in Cairo

Had checked this out on-line. Everything looked great, seemed to be a large buffet.
Very limited selection on buffet, grilled pork chop in ready made gravy, stewed chicken in watery BBQ sauce. Mac and cheese that was extremely thick (called it "Our famous mac and cheese"). Nothing really looked or tasted all that good.
Will not be going back.

Just a taste of good Southern cooking can be found in this downtown location. Check out their menu and try the weekend choices of fresh foods.

If you love seafood, you will love Rock Bottom Seafood. The restaurant is family owned and operated. The seafood is fresh and top quality. I enjoyed dining in, but have also ordered carry out. The snow crab claws and shrimp are prepared upon ordering. The hush puppies and crab bites are the best I've ever eaten. The prices are higher than an average restaurant, but you are paying for fresh seafood and prepared on order.

We love Marylands. Everything is great. One of my favorite options they have is the "healthy choice plate." It comes with smoked chicken breast, green beans, a roll, and a drink for only $5. Their chicken strips and fried squash are also delicious! Try their honey mustard sauce and their bourbon sauce. Great choice!

Taco N Madre is great! It is family owned and operated. Everything is fresh and authentic. The dining room is small, but they are in the process of expanding. Try the hibiscus tea. It tastes fruity, a lot like cranberry juice without the bitterness.

My wife and I had only recently heard of The Pickle Patch Deli and decided to stop in for lunch. It turned out to be a great decision. Along with an appetizing lunch buffet they had a wide variety of sandwich offerings. My wife had a chicken wrap and I tried the grilled steak sandwich. It was like a Philly cheese steak except on a tasty bun. The grilled beef, onions and peppers topped with melted cheese was very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and the service was quick and friendly. I think you could eat lunch here every day for a month and try something different every time. Everything I saw at nearby tables looked like it would be a good selection. I am anxious to go back and try something different.

My hotel recommended this restaurant. It was early in the evening and they were not busy. Service was kinda slow, Margarita was not good. Probably won't give it a 2nd try.
