Dined here last Wednesday evening. We loved the lounge sitting area where we were able to sit before a blazing log burner and enjoy a drink whilst perusing an extensive menu. Choices made, our very polite and helpful waiter made note of them and shortly afterwards showed us to our seats. The food was beautifully presented, hot and absolutely delicious. A lovely restaurant, clean, great ambiance, super efficient and friendly staff. Would most certainly recommend.

I have been going to the cwellyn arms for 6 years,it is where me and my partner had our 1st proper date so is a special place to us,food has always been amazing but today it was awful, the burger was dry and tasteless, the chips had no taste at all,the garlic bread was solid and the roast was nit the best, when we where asked was food ok I should have spoken out but didnt,I feel really bad writing this review as the place means so much to me and my partner but we won't be coming back Thank you for your review.I wish to apologise that you found our food was not up to our usual standard and also that you feel a bit upset. It is a shame that you did not tell us at the time. The main reason for the server checking on the food is to give us the opportunity to correct anyproblems with your order.I will be checking with our Head Chef to find out what went wrong.I do hope that you will give us another chance.
We offer home-cooked Welsh and International cuisine, freshly cooked using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. You will find tempting dishes ranging from our bar menu, to traditional Welsh cooking, to international dishes and a particular special
This restaurant forms part of the Sygun Fawr Hotel in Beddgelert, but non-residents can dine here too. An imaginitive menu with a combination of traditional English and Thai food, all of which is freshly prepared (so don't expect 'fast' food) and full of flavour. Table staff were friendly and very helpful. Our family has been taking short breaks at this hotel for more than 20 years, through different owners, but the service in both the hotel and the restaurant sides of the business has always been excellent. It's not cheap, but then quality often isn't.

Our family of five entered the restaurant minutes before the kitchen closed, yet we were warmly welcomed and the hosts accommodated all our food allergies and intolerances. The food was delicious, comforting and exactly what we needed after a full day of outdoor visits and the wine delicious. The owners were both lovely and kind.We highly recommend this place for people who are looking for an authentic and âhomeyâ experience. Itâs lovely to know that are still places like this one, with a soul. Thank you!

I ordered the specialist Burger from the menu; this included a home made beef burger, along with a chicken fillet, bacon slice, mature cheddar, onion rings and an excellent salad. There was also a portion of golden thick cut chips and a rich dark barbecue dipping sauce. The burger was contained in a nice brioche bun and served with a wooden skewer. The service was excellent, and the food was accompanied by a lovely pint of local Big Bog real ale.Overall, an excellent experience.Well doneDr Chris Davies

The Saracens Head pub-restaurant is situated by Afon (River) Colwyn in the heart of Beddgelert, close to the Mountains of Snowdon & Hebog. We welcome Muddy Boots, Dogs & Children and have menus to provide for all. We serve freshly prepared traditional pub
We stayed here bank holiday weekend and into the next week for four days and took our dog they were very very friendly we only had one meal and that was good ,obviously very busy at the bank holiday weekend but found most staff to be very helpful and attentive The rooms were clean and looked like they were recently renovated Probably one of the most popular venues of a weekend and there are a few to choose in Beddgelert. It is located in the centre of Beddgelert A very small village with numerous eateries also a train stop that would take you to Carmarthen with beautiful views along the way cost is £41 per adult return and takes approximately one hour 20 minutes There are plenty of walks from the saracens head and approximately 4 1/2 km to the start of Snowdonia Certainly worth a visit and we would return .

A very popular place for drinking and eating. There are lots of cask beers etc to choose from and also a number of different types of whiskey including Welsh whiskey to try out. The food menu is extensive, but I would recommend the local lamb and leek pie, it is very nice.

Situated in the heart of Beddgelert in the foothills of Snowdon, Cafe Colwyn and Tea Garden is a very popular and welcoming establishment. The comfortable, light and airy interior is complemented by a delightful riverside tea garden at the rear, where cus
The staff here were friendly and efficient . We had a lovely lunch but sat inside as the weather was a bit drizzly . My ciabatta and my husbands baguette were nicely cooked and mine decorated with a small salad . The tea was very nice as well , we regretfully declined cake or dessert as we would stop again later . We enjoyed our lunch there .

We were looking for somewhere to have a late lunch. But also needed somewhere that took Apple Pay as we didnât have any cash. We happened upon the Hedog cafe who did and opened up the closed outside space so we could sit with the dog. Which was a stroke of luck because the tables are next to the river and for a brief moment the sun made an appearance The service so far was excellent and we were hoping the food was OK. It was more than OK. The food was delicious. I had the club sandwich which was freshly made and presented with a mixed salad and crisps. The others had a mix of food all reported as equally good. So good we were too full for one of the equally delicious looking homemade cakes. Highly recommended

.Place was lovely although tables quite close together. The tapas were mainly quite tasty however not very hot, they were only warm the vindaloo pork belly which we were expecting to be very hot and spicy was tasteless. May go again but to be honest not much competition in Portmadoc
