Byron Bay's beaches are dotted with lighthouses and surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, rays, whales and sea turtles. This former New South Wales whaling station turned tourist town is still strongly influenced by its recent bohemian past, when hippie lifestyles flourished. Bongos and didgeridoos sound in parks, sarongs and dreadlocks are common, and vegetarian restaurants abound. Give in to the casual vibe and stroll between beaches and bars for a low-key and happy day.

We had breakfast here 3 times when on holidays in Byron Bay. The fruit salad is amazing. I tried the poached eggs with the delicious, fresh tomatoes, salad greens and spices and particularly enjoyed the combucha. I didn't like the coffee spritza but I did like their idea of playing around with the food a bit. The wait staff were fantastic, and so friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended. Best to dine before 8AM as it gets really bust after this time.

We dropped in for lunch on the fly and were impressed with the delicious vegetarian food (our family shared a dips platter or something like that) and prompt service. We enjoyed the lemon mint cordial too, very refreshing! A great place if you want to sit down but just for a quick light feed rather than a formal cafe/restaurant experience. Recommend.

Fabulous menu featuring traditional Spanish food; courteous, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable wait staff, great atmosphere, reasonable prices. A great venue for any occasion in one of the best spots in the whole of Australia - Byron Bay.
Having eaten tapas several times throughout Spain, I have to say St Elmo is quite different to traditional tapas - but in a good way! Each dish is beautifully crafted - an amazing blend of flavours forming almost a mini meal in itself. If you are looking for huge portions and cheap food there are plenty of other options in Byron. But if you enjoy food with interesting and clever flavours - a memorable dining experience, then be sure to book at St Elmo.

A year ago we looked at going here but didn’t get the time. Returning to Byron so we made the effort and walked the 30 minutes from Clarke’s Beach.
Started in the courtyard out the back. Moved tables because the smoker area meant their smoke blew over us due to the breeze direction. Over under the very big and old Morton Bay fig tree. Ok till the mozzies came from the drains beneath the table. Moved inside to a booth. Bliss.
The courtyard had. DJ playing and inside was a mix tape of different genre music.
The booth we sat at was with the windows. Out the lizards added to the entertainment.
Back to the purpose of our long walk, the beer. Tried the IPA first. Very good with that bitter aftertaste. Second was the IPL. Less aftertaste but just as enjoyable.
Also ordered the chalkboard special of wings in chipotle and mustard sauce. Burner warning. Took some time to settle the burn on the lips and tongue. But worth it.
I rate the brewery in the excellent range. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beer excellent and the wings hot.
Think I’ll return to Byron just to walk here and enjoy the hospitality again.

I've been here many times. It makes me feel like I'm part of the neighbourhood, I guess cause it's off the main tourist destination Johnson St, and it's literally on the corner of a residential street. Good food, good coffee, good people, but expect a lengthy wait cause they get pretty busy, and staff aren't too keen to pick up the pace.

Daughters wedding was held here. The location is about 7km from Bryon Bay township. The location is beautiful, you look over the hinterland to the coast, Julian Rocks and the lighthouse. The wedding planner made the day perfect, every thing went off without a hitch. Food - well the food was exceptional, delicious, plenty of it. There seemed to be an endless supply of canapes and drinks on offer. They catered for meat-eaters and vegans, gluten and lactose free requirements. All with no problem. The service was smooth and seamless. Decor beautiful. The guests enjoyed the lawn games while the bride and groom were off having photos taken. Miss Molly the retro caravan was a fun little drinks bar. All in all highly recommended for weddings. The only drawback is limited parking for guests. The bridal party have use of a 4 bedroom house on the property for the night before and night of the wedding, breakfast is catered for by The Figtree
