The best food our family had in Sri Lanka!
Sat in the corner that looks out at the forest and watched the birds while we enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast and the fruit roti, both were good. Very close to the start of Little adams peak, would recommend before or after the hike.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants I have dined in Ella. Food quality is great, presentation is beautiful, and the prices are comparable to the other restaurants in the area. The staffs are also very friendly and accommodating.Thumbs up to Rumesh for making...MoreHi Sir, Thank you very much for your precious comments. Decided to take a break from Sri Lankan food during our 2 week holiday and saw this restaurant included an Italian menu. A (small) queue waiting for a table suggested it was popular and we were not disappointed, the food and atmosphere were very good. We chose a pasta dish, it was very tasty and well cooked, certainly equivalent to good Italian restaurants that I've visited in UK and across Europe but considerably less expensive. We were so impressed that we returned the following evening. The restaurant also offers Japanese and Sri Lankan dishes. The restaurant is a little difficult to find as it is off the main street but is well worth the effort.

We Provide Cooking Classes Daily At 4:30pm
This class costs 2000 rupees (£10) and was a good introduction to cooking some of the meals that we had eaten already during our time in Sri Lanka.
The class started at 5 and we cooked until about half 7 before sitting down to eat our meal. All the options we made were vegetarian (though we were told what other veg or meat we could use at home instead). We were shown how to make momordica Curry, breadfruit curry, dahl, artichoke curry, coconut roti and an aubergine dish.
It was fun and informative but I was hoping we would make our own dishes individually. Instead we chopped the vegetables while the guide cooked the dishes himself, he would explain what he was doing and we would make notes for ourselves. We weren't given a recipe book.
The place can be reached by tuk tuk (he can call one for you on the way back) or can be reached on foot if you are staying in Ella town.

We dined here for a late breakfast after climbing Adams peak.
Ordering the muesli with yoghurt, fruit salad, toast with jams, veggie rice and drinks.
Highlight was the drinks. Muesli was nice also, toast was dry.
Staff are sweet and friendly. Service was fairly prompt and food was decent.

Cafe Guru is an alternative experience of dining.
Had a break from Sri Lankan fare for a day and ate pizza in this chilled cafe bar. Service good and friendly.

We expert for cooking classes,if you like to enjoy our foods come & see the difference.
We have just got back from a wonderful evenings cooking class. We were welcomed into the home and shown how to make a variety of vegetarian curries... each on different and delicious. After two hours of cooking and chatting we sat down to eat. I will certainly by trying each recipe back at home. Couldn’t recommend this cooking course higher! Thank you for such an insightful and fun evening!

Halpe' Tea presents the World's first Tea Factory Restaurant with fusion, Sri Lankan and international cuisine, snacks, factory fresh tea mocktails, tea bar and tea boutique architecturally mastered to perfection. A variety of dishes to choose from. This is the Only food safety certified restaurant in Ella
Fabulous food, great service and lovely tea from the Halpe tea factory. The food is a cut above most places - with a bit of a modern bent to it. The space is really lovely, with a giant fan reminiscent of days gone by. We only ate at one other place in town, and that was really average.
