I was on a course nearby the following day, and needed to find somewhere local to stay the night before. I booked a room online and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had booked a room which had a small kitchen attached. The room was large with a double and a single bed as well as a comfy sofa. And a rather lovely fireplace! The bathroom was very clean and modern looking, with a shower over the bath. And the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and a microwave as well as a cooker. Because I was arriving quite late I was asked to ring to let them know when I arrived which I did, and had a warm welcome with the manager/owner showing me to the room. This was accessed via the fire escape so I did not see inside the rest of the hotel at all but if it was anything like the room I stayed in then this would be a good choice for people looking to stay in Burry Port.

The Globe dates back to 1832 and is in the centre of Burry Port, South Wales. All our rooms are light and airy, have an en-suite, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and our freshly cooked full breakfast sets you for a day exploring the beautiful countryside around us. We are conveniently placed within minutes of the main line train station from London and are on the local bus routes which will allow you to explore the area without needing to drive here. We are also right on the Wales Coastal Path and the beautiful off road cycle paths, and within 5 minutes walk of the the harbour and beach. A few minutes walk along the shoreline will bring you to the spectacular 8 mile long golden sand of Cefn Sidan beach and the Pembrey Country Park. Also nearby are the Pembrey BARC car racing circuit and the Fos Lass Horse racing course.
Spent a lovely few days in Burry Port & can't wait to return. We were greeted by the owner David on arrival & shown to our room (room 4), the room was clean, spacious & quiet. A good night's sleep was followed by a hearty breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. The Globe is situated a stone's throw from the train station & multiple eating establishments. I would highly recommend The Globe to anyone & everyone & cannot wait to return in the future. The bottled water in the room was a nice touch & I loved the artwork.

Upon arrival for a prebooked dinner we were moved to a back room, that smelled horrible like a flower bom had gone off. It was cold and empty. Excuse was they had a darts game happening, so food had to be served there. Terrible experience. Walked out.

Whitford’s is a licensed cafe bar in the heart of the harbour town of Burry Port with 5 modern letting rooms and apartments on the 1st floor, all of which have been totally refurbished to a very high standard. Stayed here for two nights with my lady and it was great. Was in the apartment room with kitchenette and lounge area, loved it, space and comfort. Good location, had food in the Greek restaurant too and it was nice. Would love to stay again. Owner and chef Nic and his team were great, even joined us all for a shot on the house at closing time!

Having passed many times, called on spur of moment. A real Greek feel and lovely welcome from Louis. Havnt travelled the Greek Islands for 30 years, probably the best, most authentic Kleftico i have tasted. My wife said the same about her Moussaka. A couple of glasses of Makadonakos Greek wine completed the meal. Quick chat with Nik, owner and chef. Fab meal, will deffo call ahain soon.
