Passing through Burnet we found that Payne's BBQ was closed so we returned to Bill's. As before the burgers are good ....and huge. Unless you are really, really hungry avoid the temptation to order a double or triple burger even though these options are prominently shown on the menu board.
Despite the fact that it was 2:45 in the afternoon and the place was barely 1/3 full, it took a full 40 minutes to get two burgers and fries out of the kitchen for us. Happily, we weren't in a hurry so this wasn't a issue at all but still........
Recommended.

This ice cream shop is located just a few steps away from the Burnet courthouse.
We stopped by about 230pm on a Saturday and we had the entire place to ourselves! Owner was very friendly.
Ice cream is made onsite and there are 20 flavors available. I selected pumpkin and tho it was good, it lacked creaminess. Hubby declared he never had pecan ice cream with soooooooooo many pecans. Their definition of a "sugar cone" is much different from mine. Lots of inside tables available.

Unshakable Grounds provides a quiet and calm spot on the square in Burnet to sit and savor a cup of coffee. Lattes and other espresso drinks are available, while freshly made pastries are offered for those in need of sustenance. I understand they have sandwiches and soup at lunch, but I've only been for the coffee. Free WiFi helps make this a good place to sit, relax, and do a little catching up.

Not only was there only one working bathroom, their tea machine was broken and we had paid for combo meals. They didn't offer to refund us money for drinks as we all three chose to fill our cups with water. The food was mediocre and none of us ended up eating half of what we ordered. The entire experience left me with a bad feeling for Dairy Queen overall. It shouldn't cost $25 for three adults to eat fast food - especially the quality of food that they fry.

Great selection of meals made from scratch. Nice selection of sides and desserts. Something for everyone. Good for large patties as well. My only complaint is the restrooms are not connected to the restaurant.

We are located in the Historic Town Square in Burnet, Texas. Built in the late 1890's, we have maintained a lot of the integrity of the original building by keeping the tin ceilings and using the original wood in some of our architectural renovations.
The chicken pot pie was the best ever! The crust was flakey, and the filling was creamy and full of chicken, carrots, peas and other goodies! The coconut cream pie was just as delicious. The prices were very reasonable; I expected to pay much more....MoreTHANK YOU for your AWESOME review. It was our pleasure to serve you!!!

This was our first time at Payne's BBQ Shack. Overall, I would go again but order differently. We ordered the 2 meat plate. Too much food! I ordered brisket and the spicy sausage. My husband ordered the ribs and brisket. The brisket was very tender; however, the ribs were a little dry. The sausage was very tasty but had been cooked a little long.
We were also the first in line and I think some of the offerings might have been there a little bit too long.
I did not like the potato salad nor the cole slaw. My husband said the beans, which are free, were good, simply but well cooked.
I could not finish what was on my plate. Next time, we will order brisket by the pound and perhaps some sausage.
Lunch for 2 people was $38.00!
Sliced bread, sauce, s and p are on the picnic tables inside. Not too much room inside and less outside.
Everyone is right about the parking...too little of it.
The owners are very friendly and love to visit.

Ate at Hoover Valleys Café today(9/11/17). I was going to have their burger as it is very good but they had two today's specials listed: Pot Roast and Chicken and Dumplings. I choose the Pot Roast. It was delicious!! I only wish I had room for pie. :)
Don't pass this café by. Food is good, very reasonable priced, and the service is Texas friendly.

A special Kid's Menu is available for the younger ones or for those with a smaller appetite. Senior Specials are available nightly from 4 PM to 6 PM.
We were traveling though in our RV and we found 2300 Cafe. We LOVED the family friendly atmosphere and everyone's food was top notch - made from scratch desserts, home made soup and house cut fries! We sampled it all and there wasn't anything we didn't like! We will be back next time we pass though!

Had breakfast and dinner at this restaurant when we stayed in the resort. Staff very friendly, never had to ask for coffee or tea, they would drop by before you needed any. Food hot, tasty, and came out fast. A great place to eat wheather you stay at the resort or in the area. The menu had a lot of choices..
