As we were staying in this hotel for the night, rather than drive out, we decided to dine here for dinner. It was nice.

We made reservations through OpenTable, and were seated immediately once we arrived. We sat near the fireplace close to the window. There's quite a majestic lodge feel, which made for a nice ambience.

We ordered:
- Sauteed Foie Gras - Surprisly good. I've had seared foie gras before and didn't like it because it was so overdone it tasted like regular liver. But the sear on this one was just right to keep creaminess of the foie gras. The puff quinoa marshmallow was a neat concept (like a rice krispie square), but a little too sweet. Potato and hazelnuts were good.
- Vension - OK. Meat was done to a medium rare, but still felt dry after biting into it. Accompaniements were also OK, but I really enjoyed the spiced nuts. Note that I only received two medallions of venison, so it's quite an expensive dish.
- Homemade Spaghetti Pasta with Warm Butter and Cheese - OK. Kids were happy with it.
There was also a complimentary amuse bouche and bread to start. They were pretty good. After the meal, there were complimentary drinks (an apple-ginger sparking juice) and mini cookies and fudge which were quite good.

Service was not so good. For a fine dining setting, our server seemed rather uncomfortable and not-all-together. Our entree dishes were supposed to come all at the same time, for some reason, our plates came about 15 minutes after our kids were served, so something went wrong with the timing.

I was told visitors just visiting the restaurant do not pay for parking, only hotel guests pay for parking.

Overall, well executed locally sourced dishes in standard fine-dining (small) portions. Service didn't quite meet the standard I would expect for fine-dining, so there is lots of room for improvement. I would try again and hope the service is better.

Grand Central Bakery

Good selections of homemade bread, and lots of sandwich fixin's. Cafeteria style and a bus-your-own-table service. Staff doesn't appear to be too interested in customer service, they just stand behind a very tall counter and take orders - not rude, mind you, but it doesn't have a warm and friendly feeling. We ordered some pastries but were told they couldn't heat them up. The only warm pastries were the cinnamon rolls that were kept over a vat of warm water and they were barely warm. Hard to believe a bakery can't heat up a pastry. Sandwiches were big and very good and the bread was fresh with lots of choices.

We wanted to go to the burien fish house before heading to the airport but they were closed, and the Greek house next door was open, so we ended there.

The food was excellent. We had the chicken souvlaki, the chicken, rice lemony soup. Grilled Prawns and beet salad.

I gave them 4 because their prices was a bit high and service a bit slow. Will come back if I come in town.

Our server, Haylee, was terrific. She kept our glasses full, and was very attentive. I ordered the lamb shank. It was served with fresh green beans , mashed potatoes and a delicious gravy. The lamb itself was very tender. In fact, it almost seemed as though it had been slow cooked rather than roasted.

My husband ordered a combo platter and couldn’t finish it... huge portions of ribs, brisket and chicken. I tried a few bites, but all three were very heavenly seasoned and didn’t appeal to me.

The cornbread, with maple butter drizzle, was a very nice treat.

Bistro Baffi Italian Cuisine

Based on the glowing reviews, we tried Bistro Baffi for dinner. Maybe our expectations were set too high, but we had an exceedingly average dinner experience which left us feeling disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the wait staff was extremely attentive and polite (although we picked up on a negative reaction from our server when some of us decided not to have wine). Not a problem in itself. The stuffed mushroom appetizer, however, was substantially undercooked to the point it was like eating a lukewarm, raw mushroom -- not an experience that any of us care to ever repeat. Only one of our three entrees was something we'd order again. The others were remarkably average. We went in predisposed to having a wonderful experience, but the quality of the food simply did not match the ambience, the price, or the hype.

This restaurant was recommended to me by the front desk at La Quinta. I chose this over the nearest steakhouse and wasn't disappointed. I had the spring roll app and pad sei ew entree. It was a lot of food and tasted very good. I had lots of veggies with the pad sei ew and it was one of the best I've eaten. The spring rolls were good too but I was very happy with the entree. I would definitely eat here again.

Feels like walking into a Speakeasy from the 20s but with modern bar and craft drinks! We stayed at the adjacent hotel and relieved excellent service at the Tin Lizzy. The drinks were very creative and tasty, the servers were friendly and attentive. It's definitely cozy and somewhat small, perfect for groups less than 6 people. I'd definitely re-visit next time I'm in Seattle.

Ok so the cheese itself is very tasty, that is where the fairytale ends. The grilled cheese sandwich had very little cheese, was burnt and extremely dry. Guys for all the hype you have to do better. My home kitchen produces a heartier, velvety grilled cheese sandwich.
