Cosy chalet-style inn with all confort (f.e. with indoor-swimming-pool, whirlpool, solarium and sauna. Ideally located amidst the Alps for excursions and walks in summer and in winter. Creative cooking! Seasonal specialities in our panorama-restaurant with grandious vue over the Alps.
We stayed here over Christmas holidays in a search for a quiet skiing place to avoid corona and crowds and not expecting much else. However the hotel is just lovely and the hosts are so warm and welcoming, it made our stay so special. The food is so much more than what you may expect in a typical Swiss mountain place, and we genuinely all our meals. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and our two young children were treated like royalty. The hotel is ski in/ski out and as as icing on the cake, the swimming pool was much loved after skiing. Thank you for having us!!

The restaurant at the bottom of a ski slope is a nice restaurant, but. According to the owner, they have hired a lot of inexperienced staff. Coupled with the lack of any system and you get total chaos when it's busy. The staff makes a lot of mistakes and, perhaps because this is Switzerland, do not expect to be compensated at all. They miss orders, bring orders to the wrong tables, forget to serve you at all. So if it's busy, avoid the restaurant at all costs.

We arrived late at night after some bad weather and traffic jams. Since everyone seemed to have gone to bed we felt bad to call. But luckily the owner picked up the phone and was very friendly to us, handing us the key and we immediately fell asleep. Our room was very clean and super quiet, excellent when you need a couple of nights of good sleep. Good shower, flat-screen TV. Wifi works in the restaurant and outside on the terrace. We had dinner once, a tasty tagliatelle with salmon and an excellent entrecôte. Meat was rather expensive, but that's the way it is in Switzerland and since it's very tender, it's well worth it. The owners provide much information about the surrounding villages, like maps and tourist info. It's run by a family for twenty years now (summer 2015). Also they are happy to help out, just ask. Bürchen is a lovely quiet place. At night you can enjoy the Milky Way at clear sky. Best kept secret tourist attraction: in summer the cows are gathered at Restaurant Moosalp after a long day in the field. It may be a simple event but we found ourselves amused by the healthy and strong big ladies. And their bells make it a spectacular scene. Ask the owners for the time they gather.
