I went with friends and family from out of town and i gotta say,This is what makes a small town so appealing. Nothing over the top, just basic , down home meals at a fair price in an atmosphere you rarely find anywhere.
I will continue to recommend this place to anyone heading out to Oakland,AR.

After an absence of over two years, my wife and I ate at Gaston's again as members of a large birthday gathering. We were pleasantly surprised. I heard no complaints from any of the fourteen people in our party. Service was prompt, and the dinners were well prepared. I have read that a new chef came on board over a year ago and that must make all the difference in the world. The ambiance, antique decorations, views of the river, and now the excellent food is apparently improving the perception of Gaston's with travelers. Pay them a visit and see for yourself. We are glad that we returned.

We stopped here for our evening meal. The food was nice, a little on the expensive side for what we ordered especially when there was a 25c charge for sour cream on a baked potato! I'm glad I didn't have butter as well. We both felt the service was rushed even though it was not busy.

The enthusiastic recommendation of a local clerk brought us to this '50s style restaurant after hiking in nearby Bull Shoals State Park. Food was hot, fast, tasty, and plentiful and served by a wonderful server. Great fresh-brewed iced tea. Had the strawberry/rhubarb pie for dessert -- heaven.

My family has a house in Bull Shoals, Arkansas and I've been visiting off and on since the early 1980's. Bush's Pizza has always been a staple and the pizza is still excellent. The owners are lovely and always super friendly. The pizza is thin crust (a rarity for this part of the country) and every kind we've tried is excellent. This trip, we also tried their dessert pizza (apple) and our kids (who are very picky eaters) couldn't stop eating it. Bush's has a fairly famous "giant cookie pizza" that has always been a fan favorite in our family as well.
The business has been for sale for about three years, but as of July 2017, the long-term owners are still at the helm and the pizza is as good as always. Please patronize these local businesses when you are passing through Bull Shoals for your fishing adventures or lake trips!

Recently moved to the area and finally got around to stopping in. Terrific juicy burger, cooked to order. Fries were good, and mozzarella sticks were large with very crispy batter, and the cheese stayed nice and warm. Waitress was super -- very friendly and efficient. Food was brought out very quickly. We ate outside in beautiful weather. Can't wait to go back! So excited to have such a great restaurant in Lakeview!

Great place, almost passed it. Pulled in and asked Ann old Marine and wife about the place. "Best in Town" they stated. Yep, have to agree. Great breakfast, eggs, thick cut bacon, spicy green peppered potatoes, fresh baked sour dough bread, and coffee. Inexpensive eats and a great staff. Took a photo with the lady of sarcasm, ha! Nice shirt...

I stopped here after they opened to give them a try.
I was not greeted by a hostess and finally another customer had to flag down a Waitress to seat me.
The chairs are restaurant style chairs that they added wooden slats to and are extremely uncomfortable and quite ugly.
The prices are high for this area and I was surprised at the small serving size.
I ordered onion strings and asked that they please be served with my meal-but they were brought out in about two minutes-The waitress apologized but told me that the kitchen was slow so they cooked them immediately!
I felt rushed and therefore it hindered me enjoying my meal.
Also I ordered the seafood platter and it only had one small piece of fish and it was supposed to have two hush puppies yet I only received one.
I can honestly say the best part of the meal was the coleslaw-how sad!
On the way out and let the waitress know of my disappointments and she said that they had just recently opened and needed some time to work out the kinks.
I don't know if I'll be back because of the high prices-even if the quantity is improved.
