Surprising changes on my last visit to BB, some good...some less so. Waiting time after ordering was an unbelievable 10 minutes (down from a maddening HOUR or more on a normal weekday). The meat patty was not the same quality as a few months ago: very compact and industrial-looking, completely tasteless. Have they sacrificed quality in order to solve their waiting time problem? I'd be curious to hear from other customers.

Sweet little restaurant close to the Grand Place. Very friendly. You have to try the carponade de flamande which is beef cooked in beer - the beef is so tender it melts in the mouth. And the best fries in town. We tried this dish in one other restaurant and it was not that good. Also had the mussels and chips- again excellent. You would be mad to miss this place!

This very old pub/café covered in paintings and various historic memorabilia looks like it hasnât altered in 100 years and with its old tables and chairs it has a homely atmosphere. There is also a more modern area, obviously a more recent extension at the rear of the building although this lacks the traditional feel of the bar area. There is a great selection of beers and a simple traditional food menu. We were fortunately able to find a small table for two opposite the bar and spent a very pleasant two hours sampling some delicious beers. For food, we opted for one of their Stoemp specialities with sausage and bacon and a beef stew. Not what we would describe a âhaut cuisineâ but good comfort food to accompany their beers. Very enjoyable.
