Just popped in because we couldn't be bothered to cook! What a meal - we shared whitebait starter, then I had curry which was home cooked and gorgeous and hubby had rack of ribs. Both meals were perfect. NOTE the rack of ribs IS a whole rack and husband with massive appetite could not finish his meal! Great staff service too. Thanks all!

Went late afternoon with my daughters and grandchildren (9&7).Got served at the bar after being ignored for a few minutes. After commenting to one of my daughters about the miserable service I received she told me the dark haired woman with her hair covering half of her face was the manager. If I could pass on some advice it would be that manners cost nothing!!Not so much as a please or thank you when taking the payment for our drinks and a smile wouldn't have gone a miss either. We decided not to bother eating and went elsewhere instead.

A friend and I decided to try Sunday lunch with the new landlord. We both chose Roast Pork, which was amazing, but sadly not hot. They werenât busy, so I guess the meals had been left on the pass too long. We were hungry and thought that if we complained there would be a wait and they might be microwaved. No one came to check if we were happy with our meals. When we paid the bill the landlord simply said they couldnât have been left on the pass ... I wonât rush back.

Ate here in the pub attached to the hotel on Sunday, probably the best burger I have had for a while. The service however did not match the food. The staff were friendly but the service was slow and inept. We waited too long to order and receive our drinks and food. The menu was also more limited than we would have expectedDear trudi535Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent meal with us.I was pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal, but please accept my apologies when it comes to the service levels, rest assured that this hasWe do run a limited menu through the summer months up until the end of October to assist the kitchen to cope with the large volume of numbers we cater for on a sunny day.I do hope that you might consider giving us another chance in the future.Kara

The oldest pub in the New Forest, the Fleur resides in the beautiful village of Pilley just outside Lymington. Serving excellent local ales, wines and spirits, the Fleur-de-Lys first pint being served can be traced back to 1096 and with a list of landlord

The Royal Oak is a family run historic pub set in the New Forest. It offers an excellent range of real ales and ciders, as well as lovely homemade food and desserts. The pub is near to local attractions such as Beaulieu motor museum, Lepe beach and Exbury
We went along on a sunny afternoon for Sunday lunch . Big mistake!Stood at the bar for 5 minutes being totally ignored. Then had to intervene before another customer jumped the queue .We were offered a table. But couldn't get a drink as it would be " served at the table right away "After 10 more minutes sat at the table , with no hint if any service , we left .We have regularly visited this pub over many years. Until the staff get a modicum of customer service we will not he back . Shame .

We visited this pub on a Friday night with live music which was great. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming and the pub was busy but you could hear yourself talk. Everyone was friendly and there was a good specials board for food as well as the main menu. Our group had bangers and mash, fish and chips and the homemade chicken curry. All the food was fresh and tasty and well cooked. The sausages tasted very fresh and local and the chicken curry was really well seasoned with a nice kick. We got chatting to another couple of tables there with their dogs as dogs are welcomed and had a really lovely evening. Would definitely come again!

I heard good things about this restuarant and saw good reviews in Trip, however, it didnât live up to my expectation. We went for Sunday lunch but there wasnât any roasts on the menu or on boards around the restuarant so we ordered meals from a limited menu. However, the locals seem to know that they can order roasts as one couple were later served with roast beef! Bread served at the start of our meal was dry and the main meals were bland, so nothing to write home about. Overall, apart from the decor, I was far from being impressed.Dear Guest,I was saddened to hear that you have left feeling disappointed following your recent visit to Monty's Inn, this is clearly never our intention. We strive so hard to exceed our guests' expectations and I am so sincerely sorry that this was not the case when you visited. We listen very carefully to what our guests tell us and will always act upon any feedback that we receive. I would very much like to establish more details so that I can look into this further, can I kindly ask that you make contact with our Monty's Manager, Richard on [email protected] when your time permits, providing him with your contact details. He will then be able to call you at a mutually convenient time to discuss this further.Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.Kind RegardsAndrew
