I stopped here on the way to Victoria. The service was prompt. The breakfast special was good at an excellent price. The place is not overly fancy but for a good honest meal at a good honest price it works.Going south you don't see the restaurant until you are past the turnoff. Turn right at the traffic light just before the Antique Barn and take the road around behind. Going north, you will see the restaurant then turn left at the light.

This is just a standard pub where the locals go. It is very rustic. The food and the staff are great. There's a bit of a strange door to the pub which could put you off.
What a delightful afternoon walking around town looking at all the beautiful mural depicting the history of the area. Every St corner or wall has a beautiful mural showing the heritage of the island. I was fascinated with this beautiful, picturesque town, a definite European flavour. I really felt like I was visiting one of Canada's treasures.

Coffee Bar serving 10 different Blends of organic coffee, espress, latte and more. Soup, Sandwiches, Pot pie, baked goods
We had coffee, which was good. However, cafe latte costs 4,25 which is very expensive. We also had a cinnamon bun that tasted ugly and costs more than five dollars. There are better ways to spend money ...Our coffee is organic and Island roasted we get it with in 2 days of roasting, so it does cost us more but we feel it is worth it. I am sorry your Cinnamon bun tasted ugly these are some of our best sellers here and they are not more then 5 dollars they are 3.95. I am sure if you told our staff they would have gladly replaced it with something to your liking. We can't fix problems if we do not know about them, Customer satifaction is very important to us. We are not a bakery we are a coffee shop so yes our prices are higher then that at a bakery. As for the pricing all our supplies have gone up in the past few months and we have tried our best to not raise our prices as of yet. I personally have gone to other cafes and paid a lot more for an organic latte. Milk prices alone are insane. Our prices reflect all our costs from staff to rent to hydro and supplies. I am truly sorry you felt there was a better way to spend money. Thank you for your review I will be looking into the Cinnamon bun issue with our staff.

We ended up ordering food that was perhaps closer to Chinese than Vietnamese---which I acknowledge means missing out on one of my favourite cusines. But it was still very good. I look forward to coming back sometime and having their Pho.

Our breakfast was delish, although it took a bit long to get. It was cooked by a chef, no greasy short order cooking! We try and eat there as much as we can.

Welcome to the Sawmill Taphouse & Grill, the home of good food for good people. Located in Chemainus Village Square the Sawmill offers a unique selection of Northwest Pacific craft beers, fresh Italian style wood fired pizzas and slow cooked smoked meat.
. . . . .arrived at the Sawmill without reservations last Friday night. It was very busy - but, they managed to get us in, and sit everyone at two adjacent tables. Twelve different meals and each one was very good. Accompanying salads were fresh and tasty. This isn't a gourmet restaurant - but, the menu has lots of choices, and the food is good. Not one complaint among our crowd. Service was spot on. The restaurant was busy, and a tad on the boisterous side - so, not a great place for a quiet conversation - but, it fits well with a fun, summer evening. Plus, they have an elevator which helped us move 2 seniors and a toddler's stroller from the parking lot up to the restaurant level. Bonus. Thanks for taking the time to write out this response Bede-Are and we are so glad that you and your party had a great evening with us. We are always happy to accommodate groups whenever and however we can, we want everyone to be able to enjoy their experience with us. I hope that we get to see you again soon!

Chemainus is not too busy in the winter, so a few restaurants we were familiarwith were closed for a short winter break. This restaurant was almost full. It is small, but they looked like âlocalsâ. Everything is fresh and made to order. I had a simple mixed green salad and asked for chicken and olive oil. It was big and wonderful. My husband had the mulligatawny soup and homemade cheese perogies with sour creamâfantastic. The waitress is happy to customize orders, and service was fairly fast. Definitely will return and recommend.

Casual dining
We've had dinners with friends here each time we've joined them for an evening at the local theater. Our meals at Odika's never fail to surprise by their amazing flavors and delight by the beautiful presentations of good food. We always choose the "international" items off their menu and we have never been less than very pleased by our choices. It's obvious that the owners and the chefs care deeply about sending out beautiful, delicious, satisfying food. The restaurant is near the theater so parking for both experiences is convenient. But a trip to Chemainus just for dinner at Odika Cafe would be well worth the time.
