Stopped in for drinks and bite to eat one hot afternoon. We were the only people in the place sitting outside. The service was brutal. Stayed for a drink and will never go back.

This is not a fine dining restaurant, but the best place to eat pub food and watch the sunset.. Lots of customers, wonderful patios, great fish tacos. Fish and chips were more batter than fish. The service is ok, but the food takes ages to some. We were here twice, and the first time it was slow, but the second time we waited over an hour for fish and chips and fish tacos. They were busy, yes, but their kitchen must be terribly understaffed.

The Silva Bay Pub will temporarily be closed due to unforeseen circumstances and will reopen at a later date yet to be determined. Beautiful waterfront pub and family restaurant with patio and magnificent views. Live music, events and weddings. Fabulous f
Silva Bay is an important marina since it is the jumping off place to Vancouver when sailing or motoring across the Strait. Alas, its amenities are few and far between now. The marina services are all intact:, fuel dock, power, water, showers, laundry--but lifestyle ashore is minimal: a tourist/craft shop, boat repair yard. Difficult to even get an ice cream cone or a coffee let alone a beer & burger. This marina is too important to let it slide, like Secret Cove or Schooner Cove north of Naniamo. Hoping for new investments from someone who understands the west coast island culture, restores it for visitors and residents alike, and resists gentrification...

Gabriola's downhome bistro, serving housemade lunches, dinners, latenight pizza and desserts. Family friendly, licensed premises with patio. Eat-in/Take-out/Delivery.
After spending a day exploring Gabriola Island, we stopped for a late lunch at "The Kitchen." Located in the shopping center just minutes from the ferry terminal, this cozy restaurant provided excellent service, abundant portions of delicious food, and a wonderful Americano coffee to complete the day.I ordered the "Midnight Reuben" consisting of slow-roasted beef brisket, cheese, sauerkraut and red onions piled high on a fresh and delicious pretzel bun. The homemade fries that came with it were fresh, delicious, and plentiful. My wife had the "Kitchen Gyro" which was also delicious and substantial. My wife also commented that the fries were the best she'd ever had in her life. So ya, pretty awesome fries. It's a very cozy establishment complete with classic tunes playing from genuine vinyl from the vast album collection on display. Enjoying a double Americano a d a delicious meal after a fun day exploring Gabriola in this relaxing and satisfying environment really completed a great day.Highly recommend.

We pride ourselves in creating honest and satisfying breakfasts, lunches and dinners from 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. All menu items are available for take-away.
My hubby and I went to Robert's place today. The best food I have eaten in a very long time. We ordered fish takos, onion rings, tomatoe veggie soup, greek salad with side order of prawns and prawns burger. Lots of food. But so delicious and very reasonably priced for the big portions. After we ate we roomed around the little village and decided we wanted to take the ferry back to Nanaimo. On the ferry we were talking to the driver of the car parked behind us and we found out he is the owner of the Robert's place! What a pleasant surprise. I was still so enjoyeing the memoey of the delicioys lunch we had just had and told Robert all about it. He was pleased. We will definitely retun there in the future. After all we needyo try the delicious home made pies they make in house.

The sauce with their chicken fettuccine is over the top. It is a rich flavourful creamy smooth absolutely delicious feature over the pasta. The mushrooms blended with smoked bacon did it. The fish cakes were reported as good yet envious of the chicken dish.
