We were attending a 'Burger and Beer' fundraiser to support a new Syrian family arriving soon. The food was delicious - highly recommend their burgers. The atmosphere was great. The view of the waterfront was a bonus. Thanks to the owners for supporting this worthy cause. Great service. We'll be back.

Rob's Lighthouse Eatery

You're not expecting 5 (michelin) star fare if you stop here but for what it is, you can expect a great deal. They do what they do very well. More than generous portions (the owner actually talked us out of buying an extra item she thought we likely wouldn't be able to finish.... and she was right. We were absolutely full without it) and every last item at our large table was met with positive reviews all around).Try the.... everything. You won't be disappointed!

The Vine

Belgian inspired restaurant , everything made from scratch , good seafood selection , savory and sweet crepes

Went for dinner. Wine list is disappointing...Averill Creek is only featured local winery and bulk of wine was Chilean!?! Our are in the centre of a wine area in a Province with fabulous wines! Started with a shared goat cheese and garlic dip. The goat cheese was heated to the point of having the consistency of soup, with garlic added. Ran onto the crackers and bread. My main was the Hunter Schnitzel. The veal itself was nice but the side salad was awful. It was a handful of greens in a very creamy dressing similar to Goddess which did not complement the Schnitzel’s mushroom sauce at all and was really not pleasant in its own right. Belgian fries are nice and crispy but needed ketchup as no seasoning or flavour apart from the potato fry itself. Might try place again but they need to elevate their wine list and food.

Rock Cod Cafe

Family-friendly seafood restaurant in an eclectic seaside village. Ocean Wise (Vancouver Aquarium recommended) & Marine Stewardship Council sustainable fisheries seafood. Local produce & bakery products. Celiac menu. Friendly, down-to-earth service. Great

We have eaten in here before and the quality is consistent. It may not be the cheapest place to eat but, you get what you pay for. It is very pleasant to eat in the Rock Cod Cafe, the service is good, the ambience is coastal and so is the food though you can also “eat American comfort” food. I would recommend their seafood dishes though and if Clam Chowder is on the menu, don’t miss it.

Please just take my word for it, do not waste your money or time at this grimy, grubby, badly run, disorganised, unpleasant, odd establishment. We had to go here because we got back late from our fabulous whale watching tour ( I highly recommend Ocean eco adventures ) and this was the only place that was open, I wish id gone to bed hungry.

Masthead Restaurant

Reviewed By KandyZero

The Masthead is a small, but cozy, restaurant. The restaurant sports about a dozen tables and is only open evenings from 5pm to 9 pm. When parties comes to the Masthead for dinner, they come for a dining experience. The menu offers multiple choices for appetizers and limited choices of beef, chicken, and sea food for entrees. The service is second to none and no one is hurried through their meal. I enjoyed the Sticky Pudding for dessert. It was an absolute culinary delight. The atmosphere is relaxed. One wouldn't likely dress in blue jeans or shorts to dine here, but I seriously doubt whether anyone would be turned away if they showed up in either.

Thirteen of us who live locally and have known each other for a long time. Wonderful setting with views across the golf course to the sea, Saltspring Island and the coastal mountains. Mount Baker can be seen from the deck and the sunset is spectacular. We had wonderful service from Sarina and her coworkers who treated us above and beyond...! The menu was a mixture of burgers and salads, and some interesting main dishes with monthly specialities. The chowder was excellent. Wines add to the cost, of course but not to expensive and a reasonable selectoin of these and ales. Desserts , I was told were good. Although the kitchen closed around 8.00 pm we were not pushed to leave and sat with coffee and good conversation until close to 9.0 pm. Main course all seemed to be less than 20 dollars which seems to be excellent pricing for a great evening with friends.Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate the time you took to offer your feedback!
