We have eaten take out from here probably 15-20 times since they opened in south Castlegar. It's on the way home for the wife from work and it's a 1 minute drive from the house. Love the food, they had some issues the first couple weeks with orders being missed placed or missing all together but they replaced that problem and it's been excellent since. Big portions, lots of flavour and as seen on another review not greasy! Our number one go to for Chinese.

We came into the restaurant at 1:10 for the smorg, nothing was left, looked very low in amounts as well looked very dry. The waitress told us we could order the smorg, but no more food was being replenished so maybe order something else. We choose a combination dish and asked if we could have chicken chow fried rice rather than what was mentioned, she nodded her head, also asked for a little bowl of sweet n sour sauce. As well we ordered Chinese tea. We received our food, it was hot but we noticed the sweet n sauce was placed over the prawns, but no bowl of sauce delivered. Although the food was very good, basic Chinese food, I must comment that the prawns & sweet n sour pork were excellent. The service was very poor, we never really saw the waitress after our food arrived, she did ask if everything was o.k. After that we waited for our sauce and our tea and nothing arrived. She was not to be seen unless someone came through the door. We did not receive our bill to view before paying, when we went to pay she said it was a certain amount and I said how could that be? She replied that they charge extra for changes even though that was not told to us and not on the menu I replied that they ought not do that to customers. I didn't even mention that she forgot the sauce,tea and no refill of water. So needless to say we will not attend this establishment again due to the fact that they charged far too much for what we got. The portion was average. I duly regret leaving a tip due to the poor service we received.

Visiting relatives in Trail. They decided to order take out dinner. Order was placed and pickup was ready in 30 minutes. Food arrived hot and fresh with no added MSG. Yes it is Western Chinese food, but it is VERY good Western Chinese food. They don't pretend to be anything else. Would recommend!

Located in the small community of MONTROSE, nearby Trail.We happened to drive through Montrose and my husband spotted the Montrose Garden Restaurant. What a hidden gem this little place turned out to be !A wonderful varied menu with reasonable prices.The owners are super friendly and go out of their way to make you feel very welcome.We enjoyed the "Thai Chicken Stir Fried Rice Noodle", "Vietnamese Spring Rolls" and the "Wor Wonton Soup". The best, for me, is that the food served here is pure and healthy, no MSG, no onions or garlic etc. They will add those spices if you ask for it. This is the opposite of most restaurants, where it is often not possible to order dishes without onions or garlic. We look forward to returning to the Montrose Garden Restaurant ! This restaurant is very popular in the area, especially around dinner time. Open 7 ddays a week.
