This hidden restaurant has a comfortable setting inside. I ordered the Spicy Salmon Roll and the Caterpillar Roll. The Spicy Salmon Roll was good, as was the Caterpillar Roll. My only complaint was that the Caterpillar Roll could have been rolled better and tighter. It fell apart too easily. Service was good, as were the prices.

Come taste a delicious dish at Bayview Szechuan Chinese Restaurant. Their atmosphere has been described as casual. They are open late all week. You can pay by American Express, MasterCard and Visa and can have your meal conveniently delivered at home.
We were six so able to order a variety of dishes along with $21/litre house wine. Everyone raved about the service, flavours, quantity and cheap prices. This waterfront view restaurant is a good one.

Not much good to say. We ordered take-out with one of the older men waiting tables (and doing just about everything else) giving unsolicited advice as to what we should eat. Of course, he did so by interrupting us discussing what we wanted to eat.We ordered chicken curry, sweet and sour pork, and egg rolls. The curry tasted like the chef popped a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken Curry soup. The pork was dry and tough. The egg rolls were more like grease tubes with very little inside. They were so greasy that the oil dripped off and puddled on the plate.I wouldn't go back simply because I'm sure there is better elsewhere locally.

It's nice to have a place that is open during the hours between lunch & dinner. However, the sushi was poorly prepared, with the rolls falling apart (uramaki- rolled with rice on the outside). The "red tuna" was pale pink & unappealing. The spicy tuna roll had a red sauce that looked like ketchup on top, and had little flavor of any kind. The salad was just iceberg lettuce with an orange sauce. We ordered only water to drink & received small plastic cups of water & had no ability to order a refill when the cups were emptied.

Uptown Eatery is better than the reviews. This place has struggled with every owner. And Gibsons restaurant goers sometimes don't give places a chance. But we tried the dim sum and enjoyed it and will be back. The shrimp dumplings were fresh and the shrimp deveined and perfectly steamed. The sticky rice - well, we have had better - but it was fine. We ordered eggplant in garlic sauce, which was delicious. The service was polite and the atmosphere comfortable. The new owner and his wife deserve a chance.
