Was in Vic in business and saw there was a new number one sushi restaurant in town, so we had to give it a try. Rolls were very tasty, but for the price they should have been! Weâve eaten good sushi all over Canada and the US, but I donât ever remember paying this much for it. Prices ranged from $9 for the basic rolls, and went up to $18, with the most common being at the higher end. Would have given it four and a half stars, but the high costs kept it at three. Very pricey for what you get!

A friend recommended this restaurant so we decided to try it. It felt very comfortable........it sounded and looked great. Our wait staff were all amiable and efficient. And the food came very quickly.Loved the seaweed salad---that sesame soaked seaweed on what looked like chard, I think. The goma-ae was wonderfully peanuty. And a very fine spider roll. For the main course I had a seafood yaki udon.....which wasn't a soup, but a noodle dish, nicely flavoured. I really liked the spicy radish (is that what it was?) that flavoured the whole thing, as well as the fresh ginger. My partner was a little disappointed with her vegetable ten don. Had to ask for more sauce...which was brought quickly. She was hoping there might be some more green vegetables. Our other party very much liked her tempura udon....said the broth was lovely.

First, wait was 45 minutes for very simple order - chirashi and some veggie rolls. Then, then Chirashi was very bad. The rice was almost like plain rice, not flavourful like sushi rice is supposed to be. Then the fish - the 'tuna' was a bright pink and left a pink dye color on the rice (wtf?). The salmon was also an unreal neon orange colour. Either way, it was very sketchy quality. I wouldn't recommend eating there at all.

This restaurant looks a bit sad from the outside, no-one is sitting at the outside tables, but inside it's a different story. Lively and warm, the service is efficient and spot on. We sat at a high table near the sushi/sashimi bar and watched 3 staff working non-stop making amazing rolls. The menu is huge, there are almost too many choices, but we settle on sock-eye salmon sashimi which is even better than we had enjoyed in Japan. Then edenami, real crab California Rolls, Okonomiyaki Pancake and Prawn & veg Tempura which were all excellent. We had fantastic service from a young lady from Yokohama. Bill with 3 bottles of Japanese beer came to C$72 before the tip. Amazing value.
