We went for breakfast there last weekend. Was very disappointed in the meal. Had the special which included waffles (that were good) scrambled eggs ... which were terrible! NO flavour, like microwaved eggs, fluffy with no flavour. Just a yellowish fluffy blob on the plate. Plus hash browns .....which may have been a hash but certainly not browned. Instead was a shredded lump of potatoes, nothing else, and pale white in colour...not browned at all. Was not a good breakfast. I realize every place has an "off" day so may try again to see if better next time...it couldn't get much worse.

Yes, retro is in. Vinyl has returned, and we are all grooving to Elvis again, even in the culinary world! Retro restaurants are all the rage! Remember Johnny Rockets? Well, this diner has renovated into a retro extravanganza, and done it exceptionally well. Wonderfully vintage décor, and onion rings as big as your face are the highlights. Chef salads, hot turkey sandwhiches, vintage food done for a new generation. Made with real ingredients and very litte processed foods, this is food that our grandmothers enjoyed and cooked well. Nothing here is pretentious and the menu is marvelously eclectic and pays homage to the ideals of yesteryear. Monte cristo sandwhiches grilled to perfection, a club sandwhich with the option of single or triple or double, fries, cottage cheese sides, this is how I remember restaurants, and it brought a smile to my lips and tears to my eyes. And the jukebox is filled with nostalgia and is free. Bring the whole family and sip a milkshake and teach the kids to shag and twist! A truly excellent experience, and one I will gladly repeat. Breakfast and lunch.
