I am not actually reviewing the Sapporo Kitchen in Surrey. They have just opened another one in Ladner Village. I went in to check it out. It was excellent. They served their own blend of tea in a pot (so I didn't have to trip up the servers for refills). They make their own low sodium soya sauce. I had the appetizer sashimi and the agedashi tofu. The sashimi was excellent. Very good quality fish. The agedashi tofu was good as well. Slightly different batter which had sesame seeds and was nice and crispy.

This is my go to spot for inexpensive, fresh sashimi. Good portions and fair price. Really can't go wrong if you're hungry for some sushi. Creative rolls as well.

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by friendly smiling staff. Service was very fast and attentive. Our Son dropped one of his wooden chopsticks on the floor and they heard it and came around the corner within seconds. The presentation was top notch. The color of my salmon was a deep red without having to order sockeye. Taste was very good. You wouldn't expect it since it's just another stripmall store front on the outside. Inside is nothing fancy. Not a romantic place, but how many Sushi restaurants are? Price was a little more than others in the area but well worth it.Oishi!

If you like great Japanese food, try out Hanaya Sushi in South Surrey. They treat each customer like family (they like of course) and want to, and are successful at, feeding them amazing and awesome rolls. Never disappointed after years and years Hanaya continues to deliver excellent food and service to many extended family members.

Had a hankering for a Bento meal (dinner combination), as we haven't done that for quite some time. Arrived early enough to be able to ask for/get a booth. Service was fast, attentive and the food was extremely plentiful. Excellent value for the amount they charge.

We wanted something different from the usual Japanese menu items and we weren't disappointed! We came here for lunch and the 2 of us ordered the Sashimi Bento box. The Sashimi had an excellent assortment of fresh fish along with a fresh salad, a miso soup & 2 small pieces of deep fried fish, more like a fish nugget. Good value for $15. Their sushi are priced individually with a good assortment. Note: they are closed on Mondays. It was busy during lunch even after 1 pm.

We would never have found this place on our own as we don't live in this area - but friends who used to live here recommended it as their "favorite sushi place" so we agreed to meet up at Noma. It's in a new mall near 208th where they have been building houses, TH, condos like mad for the past few years and has clearly become a huge hit: the Saturday night we got there a little before 6 pm: by 6:30 there wasn't an empty table, and it's a decent sized place. We were greeted by the sushi chefs and the hostess on entering, given the option of a couple tables, and brought tea and water immediately on request. Then we studied the menu...for a while...While they don't have bento boxes for dinner (yes, for lunch) it's easy to build-your-own combo from their menu. We had the Assorted Tempura which came with 14 pieces (including four prawns) as an appy. Nice presentation - excellent flavors. We all had miso soup - not much to say except that I love having a cup to start and at $1.50 that's an easy call IF you're not ordering a sushi combo (included with those).Three of us had different sushi combos - all were very generous and well prepared. One of us had chicken teriyaki instead: I tried a bite - really nicely flavored and on a bed of mung sprouts, with a side of white rice.Total bill including tax and nice tip came to under $20 per person.Really an outstanding choice!

What a nice kept secret away from the maddening crowd. Nestled in a tiny mall off King George Blvd in the same mall where T&T is located. Went there for my nephew's birthday celebration. There were about 15 of us and the staff provided us with great service and delicious food. No wonder my nephew enjoys going there for his birthday treat!
