Since 1990, the Rumrunner Pub & Restaurant has served delicious seafood and West Coast cuisine in a spectacular setting along the Sidney waterfront at picturesque Port Sidney Marina. Patrons enjoy a warm ambience, great food, and unforgettable views of th
This is a very friendly and popular pub and restaurant on Sidneyâs waterfront. Patio dining provides views of the marina next door and of the ocean and little islands beyond. An excellent spot to watch the sun go down over the Haro Strait in the Pacific. The food is good and thereâs a varied menu with lunch/dinner specials. I recommend the fish and chips, the nachos and also the halibut on a cedar plank with strawberry salsa. Service is friendly. I come over from the UK and visit my family in Sidney every year and I visit the Rumrunner several times on my visit too!

I couldn't find the Victoria location in Trip Advisor but that is the location we visited. We wandered in there for a couple of beers based on the Happy Hour sign out front. We ended up staying for the turkey wings (amazing!) and the candied bacon. You need this in your life, trust me! We went back 2 days later to try some of their amazing burgers. I had the Bison burger and my husband had some sort of burger w/blue cheese. We had salad on the side. It was all amazing. The staff super friendly and cool and we spent a good couple hours in there hanging out and having drinks. Great place and we'd definitley return the next time we're in Victoria!

Having visited before we knew that it would be fine.It could do with some updates as it is rather dark in places. The waiter was great and his recommendations for mussels was spot on. Prices are very reasonable.

We walked in tonight and were told weâd have to finish our meal in an hour or so, since someone else had reserved the table. No problem, we said, not anticipating it would take 50 minutes to get our food. The waiterâs explanation: âWe have a very small kitchen.â As a non-drinker Iâm attuned to the âstallâ strategy that places like this use to sell more drinks, but not accustomed to the long delay for them to bring my wife the Coke she requested after she finished her wine. The food was alright, but not good enough to put up with any of this. Hi TonyTonto,I was so sad to read your review this morning. This is not the type of experience that we are striving for at the restaurant and we are so sorry we didn't meet your expectations. I'm glad we could accommodate you and your wife and that you were offered a table, although it was reserved for someone else. Usually an hour is enough time to get in and out and enjoy a good meal. Unfortunately though, sometimes we do get very busy, very quickly, and your waiter was right in that our kitchen is very small. Because of the small space, we are forced to operate with a skeleton staff. We do our best in the busy times, but every so often, there may be a wait on food. No "stall" strategy....honest! Just a general struggle to feed the masses as most restaurants will occasionally experience. So sorry to make you surly and hope you can understand!

Introduced to this local favorite by friends who live in area. Initially, upon entering, thought this was something needing a huge decorative update but quickly realized the ambience was created by what it is, as is. Very friendly welcoming and seated quickly.Told the food was great and were not disappointed.Cobb salad, split pea soup, roast beef sliders hit the table. No leftovers.Service maybe a bit slower than we might have wanted, however, nothing to complain about.Yes, give this place a solid A .

Went for lunch with friends and were seated at a table on the outdoor patio. Nothing is better than a nice cold/refreshing cocktail or beer on a hot summer day. We were served promptly, and service was very good throughout the meal. We were slow at ordering as we were talking too much and not looking at the menu to decide on our entrée. Our waitress never made us feel rushed. We decided on the Fish & Chips, the Avocado and Chicken Clubhouse and the Crab Quesadilla. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

This restaurant is in the Pier Hotel. The restaurant is on the waterfront . My wife and I ordered dinner. We shared a lettuce wrap which had a delicious sauce. I ordered lamb sirloin with a sauce I didnât recognize. Unfortunately the sauce was pretty bland and I asked for mint sauce or jelly. The waitress and maître d consulted with the chef and he would not or could not give me mint sauce/ jelly. I had to settle for ketchup with my lamb!! My wife ordered halibut and fries. The order came with a small dried-out piece of halibut and a huge plate of fries. With one wine and one beer the bill was $120 . I cannot recommend this restaurant. The kitchen is dysfunctional!Dear Sir:I must respond to your review, and point out some inaccuracies. Our lamb sirloin entrée is served, as described on our menu, in the following way:Lamb Sirloinpan seared lamb sirloin, smoked fingerling potatoes, seasonal vegetables, olive jusWe don't carry mint jelly, and your server advised you of this. The Restaurant Manager you later spoke to also advised the same, but did acknowledge that he would see to it that we had some on hand going forward. When your server inquired about the rest of the meal you commented 'delicious'. You made a point of telling both the server and the Restaurant Manager that you worked for TripAdvisor when told there was no mint jelly in house - no veil on this threat. The Restaurant Manager discounted your bill by 50% - no mention of this in your review which is simply lying by omission. We take guest feedback very seriously, but half-truth and inaccuracies like this are hard to digest. Pun intended.Natalie

I ordered the Vegetarian Crepe, which is a paper-thin pancake wrapped around scrambled eggs, mushrooms, spinach, green onions and tomatoes. The menu says it includes cheddar cheese, but if so, only in a minute amount and of the white variety. I didn't miss it. In fact, I'm glad the cook missed it. Two crepes are served side-by-side in a dish under a ladle full of hollandaise sauce. Next to the dish is a pile of the most perfect skin-on hashbrowns: soft throughout but with just enough golden crisp on the outside to give them a pleasing little crunch, and salted, but not over-salted.I love meat, but not all the time. If breakfast without meat seems wrong to you, try the Chorizo and Cheddar Crepe instead.

The Pier Bistro in Sidney B.C. is located literally right on the Beacon Pier itself. We offer a casual waterfront dining experience with panoramic ocean views of the Gulf Islands. We serve unique and tasty entrees like Award Winning Seafood Chowder, Crab
This location has a great potential to be a tourist trap, right at the end of the pier at the end of Beacon Avenue. While we have talked to friends that say they really liked their meal here, ours was disappointing. The menu says that fish and chips is their specialty. And the prices reflect it, $20 for two pieces of cod (4 ounces, which is apparently larger than the standard 3 ounces elsewhere) and $30 for two pieces of Halibut. I asked for mine extra crispy. Once again, I have come upon a restaurant that doesnât know the very basic technique for making fried things crisp. Very simply, you fry them twice. After the first round, let them sit, preferably in the refrigerator, for ten minutes or so. Then put them in hot oil (375 degrees) for the second fry. They come out fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. Not so here. I picked up a piece of cod in my fingers and the oil ran out of it in a stream. It was slightly darker, because to make it crisp they had left it in a little longer. That doesnât do it. Same with the fries. Not very crispy. The meal was expensive and very very ordinary. The carrot cake looked good, but we didnât try that.

Thirteen of us who live locally and have known each other for a long time. Wonderful setting with views across the golf course to the sea, Saltspring Island and the coastal mountains. Mount Baker can be seen from the deck and the sunset is spectacular. We had wonderful service from Sarina and her coworkers who treated us above and beyond...! The menu was a mixture of burgers and salads, and some interesting main dishes with monthly specialities. The chowder was excellent. Wines add to the cost, of course but not to expensive and a reasonable selectoin of these and ales. Desserts , I was told were good. Although the kitchen closed around 8.00 pm we were not pushed to leave and sat with coffee and good conversation until close to 9.0 pm. Main course all seemed to be less than 20 dollars which seems to be excellent pricing for a great evening with friends.Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate the time you took to offer your feedback!
