It's a nice restaurant, where you can eat fresh fisch and meat. We have also lobster, crab, kingcrab and oysters. Look at our homepage for more dishes.
Het Vissershuis has been there as a pub-wit- pub grub since long, but has developed into an excellent restaurant with very good food (eat fish!) with lots of value for money. Location is a bit off center, but do not let that discourage you.

This former prison is located at the mound of the Scheldt and many ships and pilot boats can be seen passing here. The Seating here is in a glass extension of the historic prison tower. A unique spot with wide views.
The service is a bit slow and the food is not bad but unremarkable.
We will be back because of the views.

We have had pizza's here, and that were just good pizza's, enough filling, good taste but not really special, we did not get the Italian feeling. The starter with cooked snails was served without bread, when we asked, we got the comment: we never serve the snails with bread but due to our reamark we did get some bread to it (and they did not charge us extra for the bread). The pricing for the food is very good in relation to the quality.

We enjoyed the showcase of classic dishes from Watergang's past. It was a great pleasure. In Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, the sea is always near; chef Vinke and the Kromme Watergang's team know how to get the best from underwater to your plate, for example coquille St Jacques prepared in a surprising manner. It may also include 'razor blades' and other shells and fish that you never heard of. Nice set of colourful croquants as well. The accompanying wines were well selected. A surprising Grüner Veltliner and a truly 'amazing' Zinfandel with the poultry, to put it the American way. We''ll be back. Take into account that their comfortable suite is in the next village (with a beautiful view over the Westerschelde). Their 7 min shuttle is very convenient.

We've visited Spetters more than a dozen times now, and never experienced any disappointment. You get plates that are (luckily) not too heavy on the stomach, but always combine wonderful flavours with local ingredients. The place has been redesigned recently, with more light colours, and continues to offer a splendid view on the yachting harbour of Breskens. Don't rely on the website menu too much: it's not updated that often. That said, it would be nicer if the menu changed every month or so (in stead of every 3 months or even less frequently): our "dozen times" would have become "several dozen times"...

Came across this restaurant by surprise during summer cycling tour passing historic Groede,
Restaurant looked appealing, yet was closed at the moment so decided returning at later stage.
Went for 4 course lunch. Wow what an culinary trip, dish after dish top gastronomy, top fresh products, modern presentation brought with flair.
Friendly crew, nice modern location, charming village what can U ask for more.
Wines, perfectly paired with food. Beer lovers try IPA Ductch Bargain from local village brewery

We have visited this restaurant a couple of times and have always enjoyed the food. It is always freshly cooked, my lamb cutlets were delicious as was my husbands chicken with mushroom sauce. Excellent fresh salad and fries come as part of the meal. This is a very friendly place, great service, everyone speaks English ( although we do try a bit of Dutch ) but the part is would like to emphasise is the real value for money that you get here. Well done Yasser your restaurant and your staff represent you very well!

This restaurant positions itself slightly upmarket compared to the competitors in this fishermans village that hosts a remarkable large number of restaurants within its borders.
Question is, does this restaurant offer enough extra in order to justify the 10 to 20 % price difference? My answer is ambivalent: yes and no. Don't get me wrong: service and food quality are very good. However, the main course is accompanied by french fries. That in itself is a too easy choise at this level, but what makes it worse is that these fries are not even home made.
The quality of the kitches may justify the price level, but this restaurant has to figure out some extra;s in orde to complete the overall picture. Something like a wine degustation menu with a glass of well chosen wine to accompany each course would be a good option.

We started off a bit on the wrong foot as they couldn't find our booking and seemed flustered, and I was flustered because I didn't see why it mattered given that they had many tables available. Things improved from there. Someone helpfully explained the entire menu (which was in Dutch!). We settled on mussels nature, which came in a huge traditional pot with frites and sauce. We also had the shrimp croquettes and one order of bread with herbed butter. Everything came out at the same time and was fresh and delicious. The mussels weren't the best I've ever had - I thought the broth was too salty and too oniony - maybe the could have had more options (there were two - nature (the one we took) and garlic and cream. But they were good, and it was (almost) season, so we were happy with the choice. The rest of the food was fresh and delicious too. With drinks, I think it came to around 55-60 EUR. Very reasonable. And one of the server spoke Spanish (which my husband also speaks) - this simplified things as English wasn't getting much traction. A nice location with free 1.5 hour parking. Recommended!
