Reviewed By ChristinaPuukariNice and clean hotel. Food in the restaurant was good, but not superb. Staff has good attitude towards children. Children were given pictures to colour whilst waiting for food. Breakfast was delicious. Parking next to the hotel easily accessible. We recommend.

I stayed again this year, FEB 2019. Before I say anything, i have to mention a name, yet again, Mathiass Schoppe, the able and brilliant bartender of this hotel. What a guy. Senior gentleman, who exemplifies the definition of service mindset. He is a phoenominal individual. A very exceptional German. He is perfect to work at the bestest of the hotels in the world. As I always say, German hotels are not known for service or relaxed atmosphere because Germans tend to be very strict and 'as a matter of fact' individuals. But I always felt different at Relaxa at Braunlage. This is a small town, the hotel is a small town hotel, yet, this hotel special. The staff at the dinner restaurant are rather fabulous. They are very attentive, fast and hardworking. They are very coordial and friendly too, except one old lady, who was very rude and unfriendly. She was miserable. She destroys the whole goodness of this hotel. Maybe at her age, she had a bad day. Thus, we shall ignore her rude manner and wish her very best. My congratulations to the General Manager of this hotel. HE or SHE is doing a fabulous job. Germany needs more like this GM. My gratitude to all the house keeping staff. This hotel is kept brilliantly clean. A good hotel. Go ahead and make your booking. As one of the most senior contributors of TripAdvisor, I highly recommend this hotel.

Bad manners!!!
Reviewed By prebenhansen1956We have been on a short vacation at this hotel. The purpose was relaxing and enjoying. Until this evening we have been taken really good care of by the staff in reception, bar and restaurant. This night we had our dinner in the restaurant expecting good food, good wine, and time and room to enjoy this and the company off my eachother. Everything was brilliant until an elderly man (staff) started cleaning tables in a very noicefull and distracting way and the (during the last 30 minutes we were in the restaurant) he very loud corrected our waitress. I commented on tghat, but he continued. Afterwards our waitress asked ud if everythihing was allright (she off course meant food, wine etc) and I said, that we were very much irritated and distracted by the bad behavioutr of the old male waiter. In fact he spoiled our experience of dining in the restaurant. We have to eat again tomorrow in the same restaurant but we will do everything to avoid the elderly angry misbehaving servant and we feel so sorry for the young wellbehaving and gentle waiters. In fact we will never come back or recommend the hotel to family and friends if this Mr. Misbehaving is still around;-(((((((((((

Great family hotel
Reviewed By Jan KThis hotel is great hotel for family or alone. Friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms, great food. Only 300 mtr from the Braunlage Bikepark, which is the biggest bikepark in Germany, where you can spend all day trying your skills on bike. The hotel have locked room for for bike during night, free wifi and even dogs are allowed. So all in all a great hotel. Like to come back.

Reviewed By Squid6It really gives you that rustic German feel. Coming from America, you really know you aren’t home, yet it feels so comfy, you can make yourself at home easily. In the Harz mountains, it gives you access to snowboarding or skiing at the drop of a hat and yet, it’s not too cold if you want to spend some time outside. Beautiful, comfy hotel with the nicest management you’ll ever meet. The hot breakfast is such a spread, it really has something for everyone, and I don’t usually speak highly of breakfast. When I review something I always try to include a negative to give it more authenticity but I really can’t find anything negative to say about this homey hotel. :) 10/10

Basic but very central and everything you need!
Reviewed By Samuilover2201We booked this as a break just after Christmas to take my parents to see some snow.....unfortunately that didn't happen due to the freakishly warm weather but we had a two bedroom apartment which looked over the town. Huge balcony and lounge area. One bedroom had bunk beds, so great for kids but we didn't fancy risking it as adults, so used the bed settee! Small kitchen but decently equipped. Shower could do with some TLC as the screen doors don't close properly. The manager was very helpful and made us feel welcome. There was plenty of room for the four of us and our two dogs and we would definitely go back!

A lovely family run hotel in the middle of a quiet village
Reviewed By Alan1BangorWhat an excellent hotel! Although small it is big on service and the food both in the evening and the next morning at breakfast was excellent. We had some difficulty with language as all menus were in German and the waitress didn't have much english but she went to fetch one of the owners (a delightful lady) who helped translate for us. Rooms were clean and all facilities worked. We paid 87 euros for B&B and it was a bargain. Prices in the restaurant were very reasonable also at around 16 - 20 euros for a main course.
