Warm and inviting, casual fine dining at Café Provence is a truly memorable experience. Located in the restored historic section of downtown Brandon, Vermont—Chef Robert Barral, former Executive Chef of the New England Culinary Institute and The Four Seasons in Boston, crafts our seasonal menu to showcase not only his talents as a chef, but also highlight the best meats, cheeses, and vegetables that local farms have to offer.
My wife and I have a camp nearby and we were up enjoying the late season warm temps and closing up the camp. We visit this restaurant multiple times each year and we do enjoy the food but....they are consistently short staffed on busy weekend nights and this has negatively affected our visits 3/4 times with us walking out once a couple of years ago and coming within a minute of doing so again last night - I need to say it was the only time we have ever got up and left a restaurant. After being seated 15 minutes late we were then ignored for close to a half hour last night. I do not blame the waitresses, I put the blame on the owner - we have many establishments to choose from and when we choose ur restaurant we have very low-key, simple, reasonable expectations and it puts a damper on the night when the lack of adequate staff affects the customers experience - the food is fine, the waitress was fine (once she was able to get to us) but the wait for a reserved table and then no one coming near us for twenty minutes, once seated, is unacceptable. Once is excusable, twice is not good but 3/4 times - shame on you.

Traveling through Brandon and needed a break - this was the perfect place to stop. Each of the four of us enjoyed our pastry and beverage. The cookies etc were fabulous. The atmosphere was divine and the server was great. We will return.

Enjoyed a wonderful Presidents Day weekend here. Doug and Shelley are the consummate hosts! The inn is lovingly maintained and decorated. Doug enthusiastically shares the history of the place and Shelley seems to manage the food and drink which was beautifully presented in generous portions. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The location is within walking distance of Brandon Center and not too far from various ski areas which was the purpose of my trip. I look forward to returning next year!

We stopped here at the snack bar that they have open on the outside of the restaurant...the restaurant food was good when we stopped before so we decided to try the snack bar and watch the traffic go by...ordered the fish and chips basket, double cheese burger basket and 2 shakes...the fish was good, had a small cup of tartar sauce, small cup of coleslaw (tasted good), and a limp piece of lettuce for garnish...no fries...burger came with fries and that was good all around...the shakes were supposed to be vanilla and they tasted funky like they had a different flavoring...all this for $29...I am not impressed and pretty disappointed...i dont mind paying a higher price but make the food worth the money

This is our go-to stop in Brandon when we've been out and about all day and on our way home south to Rutland. We call ahead from the road and time it so it's ready as we pass through town. Their crust is perfect, lots of cheese and they don't skimp on toppings. And, for $20, the size of pizza you get is huge! We like how they cut it into squares instead of pie shapes.

I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price in a pleasant setting, conveniently located near stores and art galleries in downtown Brandon. A couple of friends and i stopped in at this country-style lunchette around 12:30 on a Monday. My friends both had the Reuben sandwich. The corned beef was lean, as they had been assured. I had a veggie burger with avocado, lettuce, sliced tomato, and honey-mustard dressing on a brioche roll with shoestring cut sweet potato fries on the sides. Also excellent. Heads up if you are in a rush: Even though we were one of only 4 parties in the eatery, our order took 20 minutes to arrive. A bit of a wait, but worth it.

We got takeout lunch here and the sandwich did not disappoint. Fresh meats and cheese, nicely cut with generous portions. Vegetables were fresh and vibrant. If you like crusty rolls, with a chewy middle, get their "grinder" roll.

I have been golfing here for over 30 years on my annual "relative"visits to Brandon. Once a 9 hole course, the new nine opened several years ago provides a test for any golfer in a hilly pastoral setting that rivals many private courses. The groundskeeping crew have done a fantastic job over the years producing great fairways and greens that read true. The entire golf course staff are small town friendly which makes this a must play course if you are in central Vermont.
Their bloody marys are among the best should you be in the mood. Choose one of several Vermont beers on tap or any selection from their small bar to accompany your lunch. Neshobe's burgers and sandwiches rival any lunch place. On my recent visits I had the usual burger with "homemade, handcut french fries and after another round ordered the recommended daily special, a grilled pastrami, peppers & onion sandwich with melted swiss served on a toasted hoagie roll. On weekends they also serve breakfast.

A decent pizza and antipasto salad. I was taking it back to our cottage room so the staff was very nice and got me all the items I would need to eat in our room, including a couple of glasses and a small bag of ice for our drinks.

The Brandon Music Cafe offers an intimate setting for concerts, dinner, and private events. Come and discover one of central Vermont's "out of the way" treasures. Concerts are held regularly on most Saturday evenings. Visit their website for details.
We have been to the Music Cafe at Brandon Music several times and have never been disappointed! The most memorable was a day when we arrived for afternoon tea and we could hear the gorgeous piano being played as we walked upstairs to the lunch/tea room. The tea was everything we expected and more - the pianist, after finishing his impromptu performance, came and sat with us and there followed a very interesting conversation with him and one of the staff. It was so relaxed and friendly and we came away with much more than the delicious tea to remember. As well as a cafe there is an antique phonograph collection in a separate building, and a shop devoted to all things related to tea, in the best of taste. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, and from the huge picture window upstairs you can see this little part of Vermont in all its glory.
