After walking around the picturesque Altstadt of Spandau. We wanted somewhere to eat, something other than Asian, Turkish or Pizza. So we opted for this little gem nestled on the corner of MoritzstraÃe. We walked in and it was so busy. We were the youngest people in the building other than the barman. We were asked to wait 5-10 minutes for a table. They kept their promise and a table was set up for us. You do have to have some knowledge of Croatian cuisine to know what you are ordering. I had the lamb fillet and my partner had the Cevapcici- a very delicious sausage like dish. There was a choice of lamb, beef or pork. Our aged waiter was very pleasant and his mannerism match the decor of this lovely little restaurant. It was like taking a step back in time when people had proper eating etiquette and general manners. We met this little old lady who told us all the places we should go and see. She is a regular and recommended we take the free Schnapps offer after paying the bill. We had no idea what it was, however.... it was good!

This restaurant is very far away from the tourist hotspots of Berlin, and the reason we went there was that it is at the end of the street where my best friend lives. It's very obviously a hidden gem, which mainly caters for the local population. The menu is an absolute dream for any foodie - my husband and I didn't know where to start. It took us forever to make up our minds what to eat, as awe loved most of the entire extensive menu. They have also specials and the portions are huge. Just as well that our friend had 'warned' us so that we didn't have a starter. I had venison, dumplings and red cabbage, which tasted excellent, and my husband chose wild boar, his favourite. They are so accommodating for special wishes that he could have 1 dumpling and some Bratkartoffel (fried potatoes) instead of the normal 2 dumplings. My friend too had some special wishes and changes - all no problem! How easy things can be - we were all so happy and very full up after the meal, after which we were given a glass of Slibovitz (Plum schnapps), a Balkan speciality. There are also many Balkan dishes on the menu.
