Drove off highway to Lubben to grab some lunch - couldn't pick better - turnd to be the best meal of the whole vacation. Had Schweinerückensteak, Schnitzel ,,Wiener Artââ and Kinderschnitzel for our kid. Meat dishes start at around 10EUR and are worth every penny. The meat was exquisite (!), accompanied by abundance of vegetables/salad and sauce. All beautifully (and quickly) served and very, very tasty. Mind you, this is not lightweight couisine - sauce, french fries, onion stew... but hell, it's good.Decor elegant, interesting and cosy, the service attentive, hard to communicate in English but 'international' language did just fine. Will definitely come back, if in area again.

drop by on an ealry Sunday; enjoyed Spreewald specialties. Like Schmorgurke (cucumber based) and fish and chips a la Spreewald.nice, can't do it every night, as we would gain in weight, but great ofr the occassion.

My son and me did stay nearby visiting the Tropical Island. Both hungry for a steak did remember the "western pub" we stayed years ago - and here we go. Friendly staff, cool ambiance and great steaks - beside this kiddies will have fun with the railway running beneath the sealing every once in a while or with bowling. Peanuts at the table as tasty decoration, just throw the shells on to the floor (nice noise while walking). Prices are accordingly and very well. It's a definite dinner place to be when being around!

We came for a late Sunday lunch, and had the best experience ever. Excellent service. Warm, welcoming staff. We expressed curiosity regarding the towns pride: sour gherkins, that lots of Sunday tourists had bought buckets of at the market. The restaurant provided us with a delicate selection of gorgeous gherkins before our main courses were served. What a delight! It was not added on the bill either. The mains were excellent also. If near by - do not miss it!

Beautiful terrace dining experience overlooking the river. A menu that is seasonal and influenced heavily by the availability of local ingredients combined with local culinary flavors. All staff spoke decent English and were very friendly. I would call the pricing totally appropriate and we felt we got a good deal. I would recommend this restaurant highly and would recommend the associated Strandhaus Hotel for overnight stays.

A micro-brewery and pub, very nicely decorated, great menu and good drinks (their own beer of course, the wine was also good). Slightly strange: horrid "Schlager" music the first evening with a moderately friendly middle aged waitress, then lovely jazz the next evening with a really friendly younger waiter! He explained that the waitrons are allowed to choose the music. Hm.

Please see my review there. Don't know how to remove this one. The restaurant that is part of hte hotel is called the Spreewaldbrauerei. The "beach" the name refers to is a gravel beergarden next to a waterway. We were there in January so can't say much.

We went here after a boat trip for a cup of coffee. It was 3.30pm and upon arrival we were asked whether we'd like lunch which we - in our view not unusually for this time of the day - negated. The waiter made it quite obvious to us that she had expected bigger revenue. Although we were inclined at first, we didn't order cake then. The coffee was watery and forgettable.
