The Cassolette is a small restaurant, on the edge of National Road Number 6 in Creches sur Saone Village.Elisabeth and Jean-Marie will be happy to receive you in a nice frame in dining room with sympathetic pastels colour. Our cooking is French traditional
Simple place with great food. Very friendly couple running the restaurant, Jean-Marie speaks excellent English, which is not usual in the area. Great and very warm service, generous portions. Every dish made from local products, and the quality of food just wonderful. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.Thank you for your review. We hope to see you again during another trip.

The "Café de la Gare", is located in the heart of the region producing wines of southern Burgundy. Its privileged situation at the start of the "Voie Verte" along the road leading to the "Grand Site of Solutré" is a step for lovers of traditional regional
Perfect for a quick lunch this buzzing roadside café has a very traditional French style about it with friendly, efficient staff and a simple menu with a good range of excellent food. Great for a break between local wine tasting in the area.

The restaurant is in the village of Chaintré, cliose to the city of Mâcon. I believe that it has one star in the Michelin guide.
Located in a sweet village in the picturesque Mâconnais wine region, this restaurant offers a tasting menu delivered by a husband and wife team Sébastien and Floriane Grospellier, chef and front of house respectively. It deserves its Michelin star and frankly Iâm surprised it doesnât have more. The restaurant is welcoming and intimate. We were sent the menu -in French â in advance and were given our samples menus to take home afterwards, which is a nice touch. What really impressed me was that as it is a tasting menu, I contacted the chef in advance as my companion doesnât drink alcohol and prefers to avoid it in food where possible too. The simple message came back â no problem but in the event they went to so much trouble to present him with an alternative where relevant in each course, including cheese where one variety had a rind apparently prepared with wine!Lots of locally sourced goods were on the menu including garden vegetables, herbs and flowers. The portions are perfectly judged for a rich and complex meal, presentation was immaculate and the flavour blends delicious. We had one choice of main course â lamb which I went for and famous Bresse chicken which was also great. Six courses plus amuse bouche, for 60 euros a head, all with immaculately paced service. Drinks are extra from a comprehensive wine list with a good range of local wines. A real evening to treasure. I would thoroughly recommend it.

We stopped off in Macon on our way south from the Channel Tunnel to Nice. We came across this restaurant by chance. It closes at 1.30 on Sunday. We arrived at 2pm and they accepted us. The food was superb. We had the tasting menu for â¬59 which was a three course meal but this doesn't include all the extra freebies, including an Amuse bouche and multiple dessert freebies. Every course was excellent. The amuse bouche was amazing consisting of Wild Mushroom Foam, Cream of White Bean soup with truffle oil, a mini tartlet of smoked fish and a mini quenelle of confit tomato. The starter was a tartare of Dorade, with pink grapefruit and vintage carrots and a wasabi stick and black garlic croutons, also amazing. The next course was Bresse Chicken cooked two ways with roast breast fillet and confit leg, it came with a risotto and parmesan tuile and diced celeriac. This was followed by a pre-dessert of a citrus goat's cheese sorbet, surprisingly delicious.... followed by a tray of petit-fours, including raspberry lollipops in sugar, mini lemon tartlets, chou pastry with Chantilly cream and pistachio topping and a mini Breton Sable with dark chocolate and a block of soft nougat. We still haven't got to dessert by this stage!!!! Dessert was a chocolate ball with chocolate sticks, with three types of chocolate mousse. This was served with a theatrical hot chocolate and raspberry sauce poured over the ball, which then melts before you eyes! My husband had the strawberry crystalline with raspberry mousse and a rhubarb coulis. If we had any criticism it would be the rhubarb was too discreet! The whole meal was superb and for the price was exceptional. We would highly recommend you visit this place. It is definitely worth the detour.

This excellent restaurant is on the opposite bank of the Soane but is well worth the short walk across the bridge. On both evenings the food was excellent with some subtle flavours and also beautifully presented . The staff are attentive but not over stuffy . A most agreeable restaurant. If you can ask for a table overlooking the river particularly in the evening you get great views of Macon

This was our 3rd visit here and just as good as the previous visits. The excellent high standards are maintained and it shows. The menus certainly don't fall into the çheap eats' category but it isn't promoted that way. The menus however offer excellent choices and for the more budget conscious there's an excellent menu du jour with 3 courses for 26 euro. The service is discreet, polite and very helpful as needed. Menus in English or French are offered and most of the staff speak some English. The wine list as you might expect is extensive both in range and price. The food quality and presentation is truly excellent. Well worth a visit for lunch or dinner and the outdoor terrace overlooking the river is utterly charming.

Small restaurant in the City. European food, with only local, and fresh products. The bread, the icecream, the sorbet, the sauce ... everything is Home Made.
Limited menu but food was delicious especially the first course (salmon). Service on the other hand - one very nice waitress but when most tables are taken; with one person in the kitchen and one in front house = not enough. It took at least half an hour until we got our first course and the same amount of time between courses. Donât go there if you are in a hurry but if you have time and want nice food â allez-yDear ddnn2013,We are very grateful for your comment.
