Lovely hotel, really friendly staff who were happy to help with any questions even at 6am, great food, the breakfast was fab, lovely sauna and steam room, clean rooms, really comfy, the only issue we had was that both heaters were on and so I was way too hot when I woke up at 4am. That was our fault for not turning them off when we checked in to the room because we were in a rush to get to our friend's wedding.

The room was clean & tidy, breakfast was hit and miss. Complained about the noise at 11pm, was told it would be sorted, finally went quiet at midnight, started again just before 6am. Was advised I'd get a refund, still not happened.

Best avoided. Food ropey and bedroom needing significant updating. Good luck to new owners!!! Plenty other locations to select but this place is near motorway I guess Would not return unless had to do so. Other locations will offer better arrangements

A former Holiday Inn, the Britannia Hotel Bolton is in a fantastic location for exploring the North West. Situated close to the M61 motorway, Bolton's Macron Stadium is only a 10 minute drive, or for the shoppers, The Trafford Centre and Manchester City Centre are just a 15 minute drive. All the family will enjoy the highly rated Go Ape at nearby Rivington Pike and Bolton Town Centre is just 2 miles away with its great range of bars, clubs and nightlife, as well as several golf courses.
A last minute booking as working in the area and thought I’d give it a try as I liked the Britannia at Newcastle airport and they only had a turn on ? ( not bad at all and quit funny) And as always the staff are always friendly polite and professional Secure (well off street) parking and only £49 a week day (£57 with breakfast) Reasonably priced bar ( attentive staff Kai ?? ) Kai Azeem and the Alan’s made stay Will definitely recommend for Young old families and workers you’d have to be a Karen to find something wrong with this place

On our arrival we walked down a corridor that absolutely stank of weed. My 7 year old commented on it, and I had to say that I was sure our room would be fine, unfortunately it was not. We were due to go out, and so I tried to ignore the state of the room, however whilst we were getting changed I could hear the police banging on the next door room, demanding that they were let in. On leaving our room the officers were still there, again prompting questions from my daughter. At this point, had my daughter not been with me, I would have taken our bags and left. When we returned there was continuous noise throughout the night, and my daughter insisted on putting her suitcase against the door for security. The room was cold and draughty, despite having 2 heaters switched on. There were no blankets or additional bedding available. Although the room appeared clean, there was a disgusting patch behind the bathroom door, black mould on the walls- which I believe is poisonous, two of the bathroom floor tiles were lose and moved when walked on, and there were holes, dints and marks on all the walls. I also believe that the ceiling was covered with artex, and I highly doubt it has been tested for asbestos. All in all, it was an absolutely appalling stay, and has ruined what was supposed to be a special treat. The only good thing I have to say, is that the lady working on reception when we arrived was friendly and helpful., and at the time, agreed that the smell of weed was appalling. I took pictures of the room, and I intend to report the hotel to both the council and the council.
