Bolsena is a town and comune of Italy, in the province of Viterbo in northern Lazio on the eastern shore of Lake Bolsena. It is 10 km (6 mi) north-north west of Montefiascone and 36 km (22 mi) north-west of Viterbo. The ancient Via Cassia, today's highway SR143, follows the lake shore for some distance, passing through Bolsena.

Visited here for lunch, having seen it packed the previous night. We shared an antipasto platter (antipasti di terra), which was lovely before tagliatelle ragu (him) and risotto di mare (me). Delicious and just the right amount of meat in each. Service was friendly and efficient and we were pleased that we'd dined there.

Our restaurant was founded in 1950 and was the first stilts over the waters of the lake. Since then, the restaurant has been run by our family, trying to taste our customers with the highest number of local products as possible: whitefish (coregone), perch, pike eel but especially with Vernaccia (our specialty) mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy. The oil that we use in all food is produced by us (we have a farm just over the hills of Bolsena). The wine list is well stocked with all the bottles in the area. We produce dishes of the day and on order of the peculiarities of the fish of Lake Bolsena. We also host groups and organized lunches to work. We are open all year for lunch and from spring to autumn for dinner. Our restaurant is very romantic and characteristic: the stilts is one of the few in Italy to do catering.
One of the most enjoyable meals we had in Italy in a gorgeous setting sitting over the water of lake Bolsena. A choice of food on the menu at reasonable prices. Nice staff who were helpful. All the food was gourmet, the pasta was tops.Oh, thank you so mutch for this rate. We love United States of America, we love americans. Thanls a lot for testing our food. See you soon. Andrea

Me and my father went there to have lunch and to stay on the beach for a while. We ordered ravioli and carbonara. The staff was really nice and the pasta was great(tho the ravioli came in a bit too small portions). After the meal we walked over to our sunbeds just 30 ft away, and enjoyed the rest of the day there:)

Delicious, unique local food. The good first courses are only shadowed by the excellent main dishes. The lack of pizzas from the menu is highly compensated by a variety of different meat and fish dishes. And oh, the view. Worth mentioning - all the desserts are home made, down to the marmalade topping.

Large air conditioned room, able to accommodate up to 150 people, and a lush flower garden are the spaces that the Ristorante La Pineta is dedicating its guests to enjoy a delicious a la carte menu or to organize banquets and parties for every occasion. A large fireplace for the winter warms guests we have the pleasure of welcoming in the cold season while the summer we have a large covered veranda with a capacity of 80 seats, and two beautiful gazebo surrounded by our beautiful garden, to taste The large outdoor area is divided into multiple areas, a large parking lot for the guests, the garden with gazebo and large umbrellas, the veranda with a stunning view of the lake and a private and romantic green corner. The tench soup with egg noodles, the ancient Sbroscia (with the original recipe of the fishermen) and then still fresh lobsters, fresh fish from the lake and the sea, fries, carpaccio of whitefish, are only some of our recipes for For weddings we have studied a series of highly original solutions and great emotion for a wedding reception unforgettable.
We dined at La Pineta whilst staying at the Hotel Royal a short - but very pleasant - walk away. We knew we had arrived when we saw inviting flickering lights lining the drive.
The restaurant has several different areas including gazebos in the grounds (good for romantics) an outdoor dining area with views of the lake, and an airy indoor dining room which was our choice. I found my van Gogh style chair a little uncomfortable, but our hostess quickly found me a cushion. The service was excellent throughout our meal.
I chose the set menu at 25 euros: 6 starters from the lake, followed by homemade pasta with seafood ragu, lake fish with mixed salad and dessert. Our non-fish eater had a magnificent salad, beautifully presented with thinly sliced apple and peach, mozarella and tomatoes. The starter with six lake fish was particularly good - it included different combinations of tastes and fish cooked in a variety of ways. Next we had pasta, and then eel, and beef in balsamic sauce with grilled vegetables. For dessert three of us had lemon sorbet and the fourth chocolate mousse.

This restaurant is a little hard to find if you're not a local, but it is worth the search. The food is fresh and nicely prepared. The service was excellent. I was here with a group of 18 people and they managed to serve us all in a timely manner. I really have only one minor complaint: We were seated in a covered patio on a very hot, muggy day, which was very uncomfortable. They tried to accommodate us by turning on the a/c and a fan, but as the room was open to the elements, it didn't help much. The solution, of course, is to ask for a table indoors on hot days.

We enjoyed New Year's Eve at this restaurant. Three of us enjoyed the selection of seafood, which was very fresh. One of us had all vegan food. The antipasti was too salty, but everything else was excellent! Warm and friendly staff, outstanding service. We highly recommend this place.

This review is repeated because my original one seems to have disappeared? We visited Tempio Di Norzia last year (aug 2103). At the end of august Bolsena is pretty quiet and the restaurants are very quiet. We found this restaurant by chance, from the main square keep walking till you get to the arch.Keep ahead and keep to the right following the road in line with the bike shop. The restaurant is hiding just around a corner! The Tempo Di Norzia is family run, Dad and son run the floor whilst mum and daughter run the kitchen. Its a great team. They are very friendly and obliging. The mussels were the best we'd had, the burger was chosen twice by our fussy teenager and was wolfed down both times, the pork snitzel is highly recommended. At the end of the meal complimentary limoncella and grappa was enjoyed and appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed two meals here. Our only regret is that we didnt find the restaurant sooner! We will certainly go back if we go to Bolsena again. The Simpsons

I visited Tanaquila with my family recently and went due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a party of 6 pre booked at 8pm on a Thursday night. We were seated outside on the wooden benches which weren't very comfortable due to not having any cushions. we also had very little space as the table wasn't big enough for 6 of us. The restaurant wasnt busy but the service right from the start was slow and surly. the waiter spoke no english and wasnt able to explain any of the dishes- luckily they have a menu in english or we would really have struggled. Now to the bad bit. 2 of our main courses were served before the Anti Pasto and we had to wait another 45 minutes for 3 Pizzas which werent properly cooked and arrived after everyone else had finished. No explanations or apologies. Other diners were served without any problems but we seemed to have been forgotten about. Unfortunately my Italian isnt good enough to express how badly I felt about paying €150 for this mess of a meal.

Not far from the main piazza to the south/east, this hole in the wall is typical trattoria but very good. We ate a very tasty caprese (buffalo) and suppli, followed by scallopine and salmon with arugula and orange. A nice after dinner surprise was presented: three kinds of digestivi. Recommended.
