charming native style bungalows, but with modern standard and amenities. located 500m from Alona beach.
Very nice place with a lovely staff! The room is super clean and nice to stay in. Great communal area to sit and chill, with a bar and breakfast available. The only downfall is that it is pretty far from the beach (doesn't seem like that in the map but when you arrive you realise it is around 10 min walk on busy roads...) Otherwise, a very nice place to stay!

First things first, as others have said, this is not on the beach. You will need to pay $2 USD to get a pass to walk through another hotel to get to the beach. Do it, it is good for your whole trip and cuts the walk from 15 minutes... to 3 minutes. As for the rooms, they are cabanas with all the comforts of a hotel room, nice bed, air con, and hot shower. You do have to remember that you are in a tropical environment and so you may see ants and the occasional millipede on the floor. It didn't bother me in the slightest. The best thing about this place is that its quiet. VERY quiet. I might have heard a rooster or two, but nothing too close to be annoying. That is something you need to be aware of in the Philippines. Breakfast was fine. I never tried lunch or dinner as I was always on the beach for that. All in all, I loved the place and would definitely stay again.

During my lifetime I built up experience with people and their character. After a short talk I decided not to trust these people and after reading reviews it seems I was not mistaking. They left me with the choice of paying a one minute boat trip or just turn around. I decided to walk to the fish sanctuary and have a swim around it. Indeed you can walk almost all the way because the sea is not deep there. Suddenly I got a lot more attention, hahaha. The sanctuary is very small and the fish will come to you when you spread a little bread. I just stayed at the island side and did not go in the sanctuary. Saved me 250 pesos per person and most of all enourmous satisfaction to see them work for nothing checking me out. It is ridiculous to charge for a fish sanctuary, believe me you pay but it gets destroyed anyway when you go in the sanctuary. Be eco friendly... As you understand...do not leave your valuables with these people...you do have a choice.

A selection of activities, such as snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing are available in the area known for its colorful corals and warm crystal waters. Guests can rent a motorcycle to explore the area of Anda. The nearest airport is Tagbilaran Airport, 100 km from the property.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was gorgeous (thanks Jesca:-) ). Rooms/cottage perfectly clean. With Aircon, Fan, and warm water shower. Located a bit off-road gives a feeling like being in the jungle. When you like dogs, which watch the Resort, this is the place to be even more. The best is to rent a scooter from resort owner Kim. This you need to get around anyway. From the seaside cottage you have straight view to the sea. No direct neighbors!! Perfect to relax. There is a walkway to the shore and beach. Staff is wonderful friendly and helps any time. We can fully recommend

It was a five-day getaway in Cebu and Bohol with my former student when we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in Open Doors Haven. There are numerous accommodations available near Tagbilaran Seaport in Bohol, Philippines, but I chose this property because of its high sounding name. Despite the fact that the pictures in the website weren't convincing, I made the booking even though I had doubts about its name and the lofty reviews online. To be very honest, it was an uncomfortable stay. If you are extremely on a budget, you may try, inasmuch as the owner Ms. Doris and her staff are nice and very welcoming hosts. However, it would be more beneficial if you look for some other options of the same price or a little bit higher with better and more decent facilities. The toilet next to our room had a notice on the door stating "this comfort room is under on hold renovation; however, you can freely use it if needed." What comfort could this toilet provide if the flooring smells like fish being cleaned. The linoleum floor covering in our room looked scruffy and untidy. See for yourself if you would prefer to stay in this apparently very old lodging. Nevertheless, it is quite accessible from the port and commercial area. Thank you for welcoming us, Ms. Doris. My sincere apologies however, but I strongly believe that your old shabby property requires total renovations for it to be worthy of being internationally advertised in websites. You could then display a big and noticeable signboard by the gate, unlike the tiny one. Good accommodations will reflect a more beautiful image of the Philippines ??.
