Things to do in Beroun
Usually, it is a very busy place during lunch time since they offer large protions of typical local meals for very good prices. They sell it also as take-away and have some discount schemes.
NavÅ¡tÃvili jsme o vÃkendu poprvé a byli jsme nadÅ¡eni.

If you want homemade dumplings like grandma used to make (well, like mine at least) this is the place to come. I had fall-off-the-bone duck with sauerkraut and dumplings. Everything was cooked perfectly, and of course the beer was delicious. The inside was a little dark and cavern-like but it made for a memorable experience. If you're looking for a traditional Czeck meal done just right, this is the place to come.
Not plenty of meal on carte but we enjoyed dinner very well. Pleasant staff, no waiting time for tasty food, little bit difficult to find restaurant.

This is one of my favorite restaurants serving hearty home made typical Czech fare. Typically they have three to five dishes such as svÃÄková na smetanÄ served with dumplings, whipped cream and cranberries or vepro knedlo zelo (roast pork, dumplings and sauerkraut). There is usually one vegetarian dish on offer too. They also serve tasty and yummy soups with home made bread. On the tap they have beers from local breweries, regularly changed. You will feel at home here from the very beginning. The staff is friendly, courteous and fast. Before the lunch rather then after you can park you car next to the restaurant and take some walks around to Svatý Jan pod Skalou, Bubovické vodopády (waterfalls) Solvayovy lomy.

A 40 odd minute train ride from Prague will take you to Beroun, and on first impressions you may wonder why you bothered. But turn left as you leave the Train Station and follow the sign for Berounsky Medved, which you'll find incongruously in a Scrap Yard. Old Soviet era Military vehicles and an old Trabant make for an interesting approach to this excellent Brewpub. First thing to say is that the beers are excellent, some of the best you'll come across. The food is good, filling and inexpensive. If you go round the side of the building you'll see the wood fired brewery, and there aren't many of those in existence..

Small restaurant with the best coffee Illy. Family atmosphere. Home made pasta, breas, cakes and fresh fish, prawns and mussels . Summer garden . Pasta with istrian truffles. Italian, croatian and czech vines.
Waiting for my car to be serviced I thought I would try a breakfast at this restaurant nearby. Breakfasts don't seem to figure high on most restaurants priority list since the local culture don't really give this meal much importance. Most breakfast choices featured price of $ 4.00 and I thought I'd try a sweet variety, choosing a meal of two buttered crèpes with brown sugar. At the price, the plate looked somewhat bare, just 2 smallish triangle folded crepes in a little buttery sauce but the surprise came with the first bite, as the crèpes were practically cold. After a few tries, I managed to attract the attention of a young waiter with a request of perhaps a minute in the microwave to add a little heat. With a sour face worthy the best French waiters he took the plate and disappeared without a word to re-emerge after about 3 minutes. The crepes were clearly moved to another plate and warmed, but in the transfer practically all the butter sauce was lost and the meal was dry. At this time I didn't want to risk another confrontation and managed to consume the dry crepes with the help of my espresso lungo. The whole experience at a cost of $ 5.82 was definitely not worth it and needless to say, I will look for another Beroun restaurant to try a breakfast meal. Where are you, Denny's or Perkins' when one needs you...Yet last summer I enjoyed a coffee and dessert (albeit at a big town prices) on this restaurant's patio. Maybe it will take another 10-20 years to bring the delightful leisurely breakfast experience of the US pancake houses to this side of the Atlantic.
