We stopped for lunch here and had a great meal at a great price. This is a family run restaurant, with a homey country atmosphere. 4 of us had full meals, side dishes, drinks, and appetizers, for around 50 US dollars. The food was excellent and there is a wide variety of choices on the menu. There is a wine selection, many desserts, and Belgian chocolate as well. Even though we do not speak much Czech we were able to communicate well and they went out of their way to communicate with us. Not to say they do not speak English, they do and I have to say much better then I speak Czech. When going from Prague to south Bohemia this is a must stop for lunch or dinner.
We are an unusual café offering Candycane Coffee and homemade cakes and desserts.
Expensive watery coffee served in a glass of wine... I probably missed something.I didn't tried the cooking.

We had lunch in this restaurant on the way back to Prague. The outside seating is very pleasant, nice views of the river and the bridge making it unigue. The food was very good, I had pasta and the rest of the party fried mushrooms. My pasta was the best, mushrooms Ok. When I looked at the dishes of the other people, they really looked mouthwatering. A good idea to stop here.

If you want to sample local culture and atmosphere, you can't go wrong with a visit to the Pi Club in Pisek. We don't usually go to the same restaurant twice on a trip, but we broke our rule this time and had dinner here on two of the three evenings we spent in Pisek. The food was typical of a local restaurant (what the Germans call "buergerlich"), which is what we look for when on holiday. Many locals were eating here, which is always a good sign. The barn-like interior of the restaurant added to the feeling that this was a club for the locals. I had zander (an excellent fish when correctly cooked) the first night and peppered steak the second. Neither could be faulted. My wife had gulasch both nights (which is something else we don't usually do - have the same meal twice - so that also says something about the quality).

Relaxed friendly service and the best value pork knee I've had for a long time. Interior has changed since my last visit at the turn of the century but still a lovely traditional Czech hostelry

We stopped here on the way back to Prague from south bohemia. Nice billboards by the road convinced us to try it. The interier looked really cool and medieval, but with only candle light, it was too dim for us, so we sat outside. Threre were quite a few table ocupied but still we had to wait really long time before on of the waiters (who had passed by several times) decided to come to our table. We ordered our drinks -beer, cola and water. and asked for menu. Again we waited around 10 minutes and the waiter brought us only colas and water, no beer and no menu. So I asked him again for my beer and menu, so we could choose the meals. After waiting another several minutes for the beer or menu we decided to leave and go to a McDonalds not far away. In total we waited 25-30 minutes and didnt even get the menu to choose from... I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Living in Europe seafood is not as easy to get as back in Australia. We were pleasantly surprised to find this Greek restaurant which served absolutely beautiful seafood (and other food). The interior was very pretty, made you feel like you were in Greece. We had two entrees, one was baked eggplant and the other cold cream of feta with baked eggplant. The mains were gyros, grilled octopus and calamari stuffed with feta. The food was really beautiful, shame Pisek is a bit of a drive from where we live or we would be back in no time.

Our restaurant is based on the tradition of Czech beer and traditional Czech cuisine with traditional recipes from our ancestors. Sitting on our outdoor garden and glazed terrace provides view to one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe (13th century), t
