An archipelago off the northwest coast of Panama, Bocas del Toro is an eco-tourism favorite with English-speaking and other tourists traveling to this Central American country. Seven islands (including Isla Colón, Isla Carenero and Isla Bastimentos) comprise the land area, with Bocas Town its regional capital and the “big city” for those looking to shop, dine well, and explore nightlife. Adventure lovers will find plenty to keep them occupied, as scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing and hiking are first-rate. And if you’re more of a tour-goer, never fear—Bocas del Toro offers a host of them, ranging from sailing to Nivida Bat Cave tours.

Lula's Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful and charming place to stay offering exceptional value, comfort and location. The historic home is open and airy, the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the area's natural wonders. We are certain you will enjoy your stay with us!
We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. It offers everything you could ask for: clean and super comfortable rooms, super chilled hangout area, amazing breakfast, laundry service, bike rental, discounts for tours and much more. The location is quiet but still close enough to all restaurants and shops in Bocas town! The view over the ocean is beautiful and you can just hang out in the comfortable hammocks. Also both hosts are so helpful and friendly and gave us a lot of great tips recommendations. The attention to detail in Lula‘s is amazing! Highly recommended!

Palmar is located directly on the famous Red Frog Beach, in the lush tropical rainforest of the Bocas del Toro archipelago. Stay in a cabin, luxury bungalow, safari style tents, or shared dorms. Everything is fully solar powered, and all the water is rain-caught. The property features a large beachfront, restaurant, bar, lounge, and yoga studio. Activities include island tours, snorkeling, hiking, bonfires, movie nights, cacao farm visits, surfing, massage, ATV tours, zipline, and fishing trips. Free Wi-Fi and roundtrip boat shuttle are included for every guest.
This eco-oriented place lies on Isla Bastimentos in Bocas Del Toro. A variety of accommodations are available from tents to air conditioned cabins, all set in a lush jungle, steps away from the beautiful Caribbean beach. Their open air café is a sweet place to relax - no shoes required. Amazing fresh food at super reasonable prices. If you wish, you will meet nice people from all over the world, plus some cute dogs. Palmar staff are the best!! Allison the manager was endlessly helpful and everyone was warm and kind. A water taxi will take you from Bocas town to the dock on the bay side of Isla Bastimentos. The 15 minute hike to the lodge is best accomplished with a backpack. We had suitcases and are older with backs that ache more days than not. Were able to arrange for someone from the lodge to wheelbarrow our bags in for us - call/email ahead if needed! One piece of advice: staff take the 8am water taxi in, so don’t count on a wheelbarrow before then on your way out or in. We had massages right on the beach, took a yoga class, saw red frogs, swam daily, did not wear shoes for 5 days - it was heaven!!

Our terrace and balcony views need no filters! The striking Divers Paradise Boutique Hotel is home to the Bocas Dive Center and Pier 19 Restaurant. The Hotel is built out over the warm waters of the Caribbean, allowing for year-round fun and sun. After a day of scuba diving, surfing the waves or relaxing at the beach, come home to comfortable accommodations.
We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Diver’s Paradise. It is modern, clean, beautifully situated, and super comfortable! A/C works wonderfully, memory foam bed is firm and comfy! The hotel is close to everything you would need as far as restaurants and attractions, but it is also set a little to the side so it is quiet and serene at night sitting on the dock. The restaurant is very nice and the owners are very attentive to all the details. We ended up getting our PADI certification there at the dive center. It was an excellent experience. Florian was our instructor and he was amazing! I would come back here again when we return. Underwater photo credit: Gaby Dusich

Bambuda Lodge is the only place in Bocas with a waterfront location and a massive pool. Only 5 minutes from town, Bambuda offers the perfect blend of good vibrations and chilled out atmosphere. We have a coral reef for snorkeling and acres of lush jungle for exploring. Our on-site bar and restaurant will keep the cold drinks flowing while you relax by the pool. Spend time in one of our many interesting hang out spots where you can enjoy the amazing view and the delicious food with friends. -We have a full tour office and we can arrange countless activities for you around the islands that will keep you busy for weeks. Onward travel to somewhere in Panama or Costa Rica can be arranged for you easily. Within Bambuda's 14-acre property there are hiking trails through the jungle, coral reef snorkeling directly in front, and countless plants, fruits and animals living all around us.
The lodge itself is quite beautiful, has a good location and is very clean. It is not on the main island but very easy to reach by water taxi (~10 USD for a single passenger, ~5 USD p.p. for 2+ passengers). You can do canoeing and a few trips directly from the hostel, for more day trips you need to go to the main island first or just organize a round trip by yourself. You cannot cook yourself on the island but the food is good, with reasonable prices. Every evening the staff is organizing some social games and you can sign up for yoga sessions in the morning. Don't miss: In the bay, just in front of the hotel you can see bioluminescence plankton every night, which is really beautiful. You can see it best if the lights are turned off for a short while and then quickly light with a flashlight into the water. Big thanks to the staff of Bambuda Lodge, it was a pleasure to stay with you!

Stayed at this beautiful place for my birthday escape . The views from the private balcony in the front and back for the bungalow are something out of a magazine. Hearing the different birds and sounds of nature in the near by rainforest was an experience you don't get when staying at a more busy accommodation. Imagine seeing dolphins swim pass you as you lay in your hammock over looking the water . The owner Pilar and her staff were very sweet and always willing to make sure that all of the guest were comfortable. Looking forward to returning soon.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this cute little hotel on the water for 3 nights while in Bocus. Good A/C. Comfortable bed. Nice hot shower. We stayed in a room with the deck overlooking the water which was very nice. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants. The whole town is very walkable and you can catch a water taxi by just going out on the dock. Staff speaks English and we’re very nice!

Tropical Suites is a modern oceanfront hotel located in the heart of Bocas del Toro. Resting on a tranquil Caribbean shoreline, the property is close to many over the water restaurants, shops and attractions. The hotel's comfortable and spacious suites feature a panoramic view of the Caribbean waters or the island's tropical landscape. Amenities include private balconies, air conditioning, 24 hour front desk and water access from the hotel's private dock. Nearby attractions include beaches, snorkeling, dolphin watching, zip-lining, diving and surfing. Tours and activities may be arranged through the hotel's front reception. Guests may choose to include breakfast with their room rate. The property is a 15 minute walk or short taxi ride from the Bocas Town island airport.
A great little place if you want to stay in Bocas Town. Clean and with good aircon, we took a room overlooking the ocean as recommended by previous trip advisor guests. We knew that they were renovating and were out of the room during the day anyway, so it didn’t bother us. The hotel went out of their way to make sure we knew about the renovations. We were welcomed by Lacey and she was very warm and helpful as we arrived. She directed us to the supermarket and the water taxis and made recommendations for both. The bed was super comfy and huge. The view was ok but it’s a shame that they’ve built the new bar at the front as it does obstruct the view a bit and I imagine when it’s finished, it may end up being just as noisy as the street side. But Bocas town does seem to be a party town. The only disappointment we had, was when requesting a later check out. Lacey’s attitude changed and became frosty and she absolutely wouldn’t budge for even half an hour which put a bit of a dampener on the whole experience. But still a good place and nice and clean and not noisy when the doors were closed to the balcony.

Red Frog Beach offers upscale villas, rooms and jungle lodges for couples looking for a romantic island escape or families looking for an ideal place to have a true adventure. If you like nice beaches and nature and don't want a commercialized/retail type place - Red Frog Beach is for you. Touted as one of the world's most beautiful beaches, this island resort offers and experience in nature that few places in the world can offer.
My bf and I did a day visit to red frog beach as we were staying elsewhere on the island. I had read much about the luxurious resort and beach. However, it turned out to be awful. We paid $5 each for admission and hiked our way to the beach via the jungle path . Upon arriving what a disappointment. The beach was littered with sea and jungle debris and old washed up fishing nets and rope. The sand is dark. The chaise lounges are filthy and broken. The beach restaurant had absolutely no atmosphere and poor service from a disgruntled young man. I would not recommend bocas del toro at all but red frog was the worst.

Colorful, Caribbean Bocas del Toro has always been legendary. Made famous by Afro-Caribbeans who arrived to work on nearby banana plantations, Bocas Town has evolved into a multicultural mecca. Dreamy, surreal and seductive, Bocas Town will capture your heart with its coconut groves and blue-green water. Slow down and soak up the Caribbean vibes: islands, reefs and beaches may draw you in, but it’s the energy that will make you want to linger. Selina Bocas del Toro is at the epicenter of Isla Colon in the heart of Bocas Town. Try local and global delicacies at our bar and restaurant, or cook the catch of the day yourself in our common kitchen. Stay in our dormitories, standard, private, unique or deluxe rooms. You can spend the day island hopping or scuba diving. If you have a board, bring it, if not, you can rent our equipment. At night, enjoy live music at our venue, then head out to Bocas Town for a some beer, rum and reggae. From here, the world is your oyster.
I stopped in at Selina's Bocas del Toro to have a mimosa with my friend. We arrived Saturday night and we're looking for things to do in Sunday Luz was our waitress and was so warm and welcoming. She gave us ribs of great recommendations for beaches, restaurants, discos, night life. She took her time and didn't .Ake us feel rushed or that she was in a hurry. She talked to us and asked us what we liked to do and was so very helpful!!! She definitely was a bright light on our first day in Bocas! Thank you, Luz!

Accessible only by boat, La Loma Jungle Lodge sits in the heart of the Isla Bastimentos rainforest on a 55 acre property stretching from the mangrove shores of the Bahia Honda Bay, through tropical forest and groves of fruit trees, to the highest point on Isla Bastimentos, allowing for breathtaking vistas of the jungle and bay. Lush, nectar-rich gardens attract a wide variety of unique wildlife. The land borders the spectacular National Marine Park, and idyllic white sand beaches are just a short boat journey away. All gourmet meals are included.
We stayed here for 4 nights in March 2022. This place is really magical. You really feel like you are in the middle of the jungle - but a jungle with all the “trimmings” Pros: 1: lovely staff - attentive but not in your face 2: daily interesting cocktails ($8-9). Think beetroot with gin, lemongrass and gin, rum with tumeric and ginger 3: the long hike was brilliant - it was amazing to be in the jungle and see the wonderful beaches 4: food - breakfast was fruit, yogurt, eggs, bread, lunch was a simple veggie dish (lentils, potato cakes, chickpea salad), dinner 3 courses - tuna, white fish, chicken mole and chocolate - there is chocolate with every meal! 5: the view - particularly at sunset 6: daily yoga ($15pp) 7: outside shower 8: the bioluminescence tour - unbelievable!! Book it! Cons: 1: we didn’t know the prices of the drinks - they were reasonable but it would have been nice to know up front 2: everything bites you - take good bug spray and use it all day!
