The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

Sky Motor Inn is a good option for drivers exploring Blue Mountains. It is located a short 3 min drive to Katoomba town and just outside the Great Western Highway. Check in was fast and staff gave a quick run down on the places of interests with helpful suggestions. Room is of decent space (we booked a Family Room for 5 which comes with one large bed, 3 single beds, a dining set and bathroom) and clean. Place is quiet despite it having high occupancy rate (judging by the number of parked cars).

The good things. Really close to town and main Street. The best were comfortable enough and had the basic amenities you need. The not so good things . The motel (just like the town it self) was extremely dated. We went peak season so paid a fair penny but it was a bit over priced for its condition. It smelt if mould and wet, the carpets were stained and looked ruined. The shower had absolutely no pressure and was hard to wash in.

My family spent two nights here and found the room size comfortable. My girls loved the bunk beds. Great location within walking distance to sites, cafes, art places..etc. management tired but friendly. The floor had a slant on it and it was like being on a ship but I guess that is the charm of a semi historic property. Would stay again without hesitation.

If you just want a bed this is the place to stay, very basic, close to town and not very inviting. Wifi and Netflix did not work and it was rather dated. Better places to stay but ok for the convenience of being closer to town. Would not stay here again

The Hawkesbury Race Club Motel is a new motel that offers affordable luxury for singles, couples and families. Our well appointed, spacious rooms are fully equipped for long and short term stays with all rooms having up to date in-house conveniences.
I had 5 adults booked in to the Hawkesbury Race Club Motel for 2 nights so we could attend a family get together. the rooms were comfortable, nice & spacious. We had 2 in one room & 3 in the other, the layout was good & it was great having a microwave & sink. Probably the only fault was the rooms we were in had the shower in the bath which made it awkward to get in & out especially for an 89 year old although it did have a rail to assist getting in & out.
