Blois Hotels | Places to Stay in Blois

The châteaux, towns, and villages of the Loire Valley are within easy reach of Blois—but there’s more to this hillside city than its Loire River location. Its royal château, the one-time favorited stronghold of kings, is the star attraction, and there’s enough gardens, churches, and medieval old town lanes to fill any itinerary.

Mercure Blois Centre

This hotel is ideally situated among the Loire chateaux and is just a 5 minute walk from the town center, the Chateau Royal and the House of Magic. Just 20 minutes from Blois, you can discover Chambord, Cheverny, Beauregard, Chaumont and its gardens. If you travel a little further (25 miles), you can visit Huan-Huan and Yuan-Zi, the giant Pandas who are the stars of Beauval zoo. On your return, relax in the "Spa" area and enjoy the comfort of your modern room. Non-reservable, paying private car park.

Very comfortable with only a minor flaw

Reviewed By YorkshireAviator

The atrium which features so prominently in hotel pictures only affects less than a third of the rooms- most are on normal corridors and separated from the atrium by automatic fire doors.Although quite a big hotel, rooms are easily reached, with four staircases and two lifts. The location is quite near the old town ,but with superb road access and a choice if two ,mostly free, public car parks or the ground level( building on a slope) hotel garage. There was an excellent breakfast in a tranquil first floor room, well away from the people in a hurry having coffee and no real food in the bar. I had requested a room with a bath, and away from the atrium. This was provided, and was above the usual Mercure standard. The hotel is well carpeted and thee was no noise from above or below, nor from adjacent rooms.Equipment level was very good, and the aircon worked,Window and blackout was perfect. The sole difficulty I had was a very hot and uncomfortable bed. This was the result of putting a non- breathable mattress cover on one if those currently fashionable American style “pillow- top” mattresses.Fortunately, this problem can quickly be corrected.

Lack of privacy

Reviewed By kempdj

Blois is a good place to be to see the chateaux of the Loire, central, and with good roads to get around. That's where it ends with the First Hotel. Don't be fooled by the sumptuous looking sofa on the picture of the lobby - it is painted onto the wall. If you book a twin room, make sure you are on good terms with the person you are sharing with. The very narrow single beds in a twin room are very close together and the shower in our room ("private bathroom") had one panel of the door screen missing. The other two panels were also see-through although not intended and it was not until we had been there for a couple of days that we realised one panel had been removed or at least not replaced. The blue decor was only matched by the tasteless floor covering, a linoleum intended to look like a carpet. The toilet had no lock on the door and we had to stuff toilet paper into the vent in the bedroom window as a howling gale was blowing through it and there was no way to close it. The room did have the option for a third bed - a pull out at the foot of the two singles. Had we been three and not two this would have taken up all the floor space in the sleeping area. However, the icing on the cake was the full length mirror which was behind the "wardrobe" meaning that once clothes were hanging on it the mirror was hidden. Above this were two tiny shelves, wide enough for socks and pants folded in half.

Very good value for money

Hotel is little bit out of the main tourist area, around 15-20 min walk to the Chateau. There's plenty of free parking around for those arriving by the car like us. Staff was nice and quick during check in. Room spacious with big bathroom. Breakfast was decent, good choice, not the best on our tour but satisfactory. Best was the natural orange juice machine which squeezes the juice after you put fresh oranges in - I think I drank more than a liter. Also, I liked very much free pinball in the lobby. Very good quality-price hotel which I recommend.

Nice Hotel

I spent a night in Ibis Blois Centre Chateau. Overall it was a great stay and it meets my expectation. The staff is amazing, the room is nice (though I did not see any slippers). The bed and pillow super comfortable. The toilet door in my room could not be locked properly, thus there was a leackage to the floor beside. However it is not a big problem for me. I enjoyed the breakfast. It is great too. Maybe one thing - just need to add more coffee machiene as there was a queue just for the coffee. Oh yea, I love the lift of the hotel. So beautiful

Great spot to stay in Blois

Appart'City in Blois was a short walk from the train station, and also an easy walk from the Chateau Royal de Blois area. The staff was courteous and allowed us to leave our luggage with them since we arrived early in the morning before check in and were planning a day out at Chateau Chambord. Room was a nice size for our party of three, clean and comfortable. We used their parking garage as well, which was very convenient. It was very quiet at night, even with the windows open.
