No trip to Cork is complete without a visit to Cafe Paradiso. Consistently brilliant, innovative dishes based on fresh seasonal ingredients, great flavours and colours. Professional service and music at the right level. And a mean espresso. Highly recommended for vegetarians and beyond!

We ate a dinner in the bar and had 3 courses. I had chicken wings starter and was told by the waitress that they are fabulous. She was right....possibly the best chicken wings I've had anywhere! The steak mains were good and the dessert was lovely. All in all a really good meal. The staff were all really nice too.

We discovered this Bar/Restaurant some years ago, when home on holiday, and since retiring we have visited at least once every couple of months, I did'nt review it for fear of jinxing it. however we had lunch there again today and my choice of warm chicken and prawn salad was as good as i'd remembered it, although i was torn between it and the sausage and mash which used to be my lunch dish of choice. The staff are friendly and on the ball and the cost is on a par with other lunch spots around the city, despite being in one of the most visited tourist spots in Ireland, a big plus from my point of view

My wife, kids and extended family had a fantastic night in the Old Mill. We all really our enjoyed startes, mains and Deserts. I had the 10oz steak, cooked to perfection, garlic butter was so good and the sides were great also. Would highly recommend having a meal here and we will def be going back.

I recently visited The Mill restaurant in Blarney with my two Daughters and my granddaughter. It was packed to capacity and we were lucky to get a table. The menu was extensive. Two of us had soup which was potatoe celery and leek it was delicious. We had lovely chicken salad sandwiches which were tasty and fresh. You choose from the salad bar what you wanted in the Sandwich. My granddaughter had a ham and cheese Sandwich. My other Daughter had a salad and it looked delicious. The staff were nice and friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit and we will be back again.

A peat fire welcomes you in this comfortable country pub. The food, served in a separate restaurant area, is delicious. Wagyu bavette steak, wood pigeon, local seafood, steaks - all perfectly cooked and no shortage either! Blair's has an interesting wine list, carefully selected. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended and I hope I go back soon.

Let me begin by saying that the Tung Sing's food is not the problem here. Usually it's pretty great, though perhaps a little overpriced. My boyfriend LOVES their chicken curry and ribs and I've been known to eat enough of their special chow mein as would render me practically comatose for a good half hour afterwards. Also, their chocolate fudge cake? TO. DIE. FOR. Secondly, this is not a criticism of the restaurant space itself. It's adequately sized with pleasant views over Blarney and a nice atmosphere-particularly later in the evenings when they dim the lights and light the candles.
Unfortunately, the staff are not the most friendly. One of the waitresses-who is Asian-has never once smiled at us, despite us having been there several times. She is quite short in answering any questions about the dishes and, at one point, when asked if we could do half fried rice and half chips as a side, she flat out said no. No sense of being apologetic. This in addition to the fact that most other restaurants will be happy to accommodate little requests such as these.
A couple of times, when we've requested a window table, we've been met with the same sort of attitude from other staff members. There's never been any sense of compromise, it's more so a case of "No, suck it up". At one point, we were told that they COULDN'T reserve that particular table in advance. Despite the fact that, on the previous occasion, it was available because it had already been reserved. Weird...
Additionally, there's a particular member of staff (a teenage girl, by the sounds of it) who, almost always, when they are busy or when it is near to closing time, will answer the phone and pretend that there's a problem with the line. Want to enquire about a table on Valentine's night? Expect to hear "Hello Tung Sing Blarney!" followed by her interrupting you with "Hello Tung Sing Blarney?" several times as you try in vain to get a word in. You may argue that there may genuinely be a problem with the connection but, as I said, it seems to be the case any time they're a bit hectic or the few times we've called just prior to last orders (I get that they'd like to get out of there by 11pm but, even so, they could learn a thing or two from the Golden Panda, who have frequently taken orders ten minutes before closing). One evening, I called JUST after 10.30 (last orders) and spoke to an Irish woman. Despite having a very simple order, she too was adamant that they were done taking orders for the evening.
Finally, we've had multiple instances whereby they've gotten the take-out order wrong. We once got the special chow mein without the omlette (that's precisely what makes it special!) and were given the sauce in a trickle on top despite specifically asking for it in a separate tub. When we pointed this out a couple of days later, they offered a pretty insincere apology.
The food is amazing but, personally, for a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere, I'd look elsewhere.

This is a small Chinese restaurant in a small but well-known village on the outskirts of Cork City. We have eaten here many times and it is always worthwhile. On this recent visit, we opted for their early evening menu which, at €16.90 for three courses, is exceptional value. My main of duck was sadly, not available on the night, so I opted for prawns with ginger and spring onion. Very safe I know, but this was a really good dish, flavorful and appealing and generous - well done! Staff and service quiet and courteous, ambiance excellent. The wine list is small but adequate and prices are very reasonable. Altogether good food at great prices!
