And we booked the crown hotel in Blanford probably the only hotel in the town worth staying at whilst we were visiting family in the area I found the hotel to be centrally located and of a good standard we were given room 26 initially but this appeared to be on a busy corridor so we asked for a different room and got given room 29 which was at the end of a corridor overlooking a stairwell outside a nice double rain lovely shower tea and coffee making facilities are comfortable bed everything you need for a comfortable stop over really my only small criticism was the sash box window rattles in the night in the wind slightly but as I said as I said it’s a criticism not a complaint the breakfast consisted of fruit cereal yoghurt orange juices croissants and a cooked breakfast of your choice sausage bacon eggs hashbrowns beans mushrooms grow tomatoes was a good standard plentiful and flavorful along with some green tea coffee chamomile tea peppermint tea pretty much whatever you wanted in the daytime and evening the barbers open and we tried some cocktails cosmopolitan Long Island ice tea very well prepared and very nice it was table surface outside in the seating area in the sunshine just take your table number to the bar order what you wanted and it got delivered to the table all in all I would say this is a nice friendly hotel and a nice place to stay if you’re visiting Blandford Forum I must just say a special mention to Toby on the bar who made a cocktails and coffee all afternoon and deliver them to our table outside a real top guy and the heartbeat of the bar Toby thanks for looking after us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I’m sure we’ll be back at some point

Hilltop Barn is situated in the picturesque village of Winterborne Zelston just 1/4 mile from the A31 between Wimborne Minster and Bere Regis.Peacefully located on the edge of the village with outstanding views of the Dorset countryside. An ideal location for exploring “Hardy Country”, Rural Dorset and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Hilltop Barn offers luxury en-suite accommodation in an imaginatively conceived barn conversion, retaining much of its original character, a wealth of beams and rustic charm. Each bedroom is individually designed and where possible incorporates the original features of the Barn.
We came across the Hilltop Barn whilst searching for places to stay near Durdle Door. We were impressed with the 5* rating and customer reviews. We booked and arrived in the village and were instantly impressed with the quirky barn surroundings and interior. Bill, our host and barn owner, was very hospitality and nothing was too much trouble from cake & tea on arrival to cheese & toast for supper (when we missed the last orders at the local pub!). Breakfast was epic with the best veggie sausage I have ever tasted. We most certainly hope to come back :)

The location of the inn is great, quiet and hidden from traffic. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. Food was good, let down by over large portions of very fat thick cut chips, half size portions and much thinner cut chips would have enhanced the whole meal. Excellent breakfast, except that they ran out of marmalade on one day! Staff were pleasant, except that our tea/coffee tray in the bedroom had not been cleared or bed made up by time we got back in the evening. One of the bath towels was very thin and threadbare.

Wow what a beautiful Inn. We where passing on our way home from being in the West Country and thought we would have a bite to eat. Firstly met and greeted as we entered and shown to a table by this lovely lady who brought us over drinks menus. The Inn is warm and friendly it didn’t take us long to decide to stay the night. We had a lovely room upstairs room 3 good facilities and very clean. We both had a lovely 2 course meal couldn’t manage 3 courses. And we had a few drinks chatting over what we had achieved over the long weekend break. Breakfast was well organised and have to say we both had salmon, scrambled egg on muffins it was delicious and the service was fabulous from start to finish. We will be back and hopefully spend more than 1 night. To all the staff thank you great customer care and friendly outlook. Well done.

The Greyhound has been a lovely village pub for many years, offering great food to its locals and visitors alike. In recent times the pub has gone through a complete renovation and refurbishment program, bring a well-loved pub back to its former glory, but with a modern contemporary feel. It offers a large bar area, popular with the locals with varied seating options to eat or socialise. In addition, there is a beautiful garden area, with secluded areas for private dining Alfresco when the weather allows. Our dining room provides a warm welcome to our guests, with a roaring fire in the winter, where you can relax and enjoy a delightful meal. The dining room is modern and serves locally sourced, freshly prepared dishes from 12 – 2.30 and again between 6pm – 9pm every day; and if the weather’s good our garden is the ideal place to spend a few hours or more! Our menu is updated on a regular basis to reflect the change in seasons and to make the best use of what resources are on offer to us. In addition, we serve a core menu of ‘Pub Classics’ and signature dishes, so if you know what you like, your favourite is likely to be there. Our specials board is updated daily, but be quick if you see something you like. It may sell out quickly. Our Sunday Roast is extremely popular and we take bookings for 12pm through until 8pm. All of our meat is supplied by from the best quality butchers, sourced locally from in and around Dorset. The Greyhound has five guest bedrooms, which can be configured for your ease and booked as doubles, twins or even as a family suite, all with luxury en-suite bathrooms (some have a bath) and all have private lounges for our guests’ comfort. If you want a branded mass-market hotel, then we are not for you; if you want a high quality stay, with a warm welcome and a personal touch, you have found the right place.
First time at the Greyhound Inn and it was amazing the room we had the en-suite and own lounge it was perfect. Power shower big double bed and warm. The staff were so friendly, young Nathan is a real asset to the place nothing was to much trouble. Now the food, outstanding quality all locally source produce where possible everything cooked to perfection. This Inn is a real jewel in the crown in a lovely village. They also do the village shop opened in the lock-down another great asset to the village. We would give it 5 star ***** because of the great team the food the location and the place is so well done inside and out. Also free onsite parking.

Under new ownership from 8th September 2014. Refurbished rooms, refurbished kitchens and fresh new menu.
Had 2 rooms after a family wedding at the weekend and was not at all impressed. Room was dirty, bed was broken and very uncomfortable. The bedding on one of the single beds looked like it had been slept in. The bath panel was broken, bugs in the bath, stains on blind. Breakfast was served on a cold plate and wasn’t the best. The staff though were lovely . I won’t be returning.
