Me & my friends some of them coming from far away countries really apreciate this wonderful restaurant and the hotel above. It as a wonderful & cozy place entirely in the old Bulgarian traditions as building, as interior and of course as delicious Bulgarian food and the famous Bulgarian wine from the unique local vigniards. By the way 2 of our friends were vegetarian close vegan but they were also fond with the local cuisine - salads, beans meal , grilled vegetables etc

Our tour guide recommended Bistro Melnik for our last night in the town. What a treat! The rustic decor is very inviting, as are the owners. Since it was a cold, January night, we had the place almost all to ourselves. We had the tomato sauce and peppers, pork cutlet, bread with garlic, butter, and cheese, and a chocolate and banana cake. All were delicious, as was the house red wine. You can find Bistro Melnik just over one of the foot bridges. Enjoy!

We stayed at the guest house adjacent to the restaurant, and decided to have dinner at this place. The service was friendly, efficient and professional. We ordered the traditional Shopska salad and Ovcharska salad for starters, and fried potatoes with grated feta cheese and kebapche and kufte for main course. For deserts we chose Home made ice-cream and Drained yogurt with walnuts and honey.Everything we ordered was fresh, well presented and most importantly absolutely delicious. We were there in August so we sat outside on the fresh air and with the beautiful view of the typical Melnik houses and rock formations. The prices were fair and we recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting Melnik.

Zornitsa is a wonderfully conceived and executed wine and spa tourism concept that is in short supply in the balkans.Unfortunately the restaurant falls flat. I've dined here 7 or 8 times so far, hoping to see an improvement.I think all the times I can only recall one dish that was delicious and well executed. It is grossly overpriced, and short on taste . It's a shame as the ingredients are high quality, but the chef just doesn't have the experience and it shows. As they say the tools don't make the craftsman and the paint brushes don't make the painter. Similarly this Chef has all the toys and ingredients at his disposal but he needs to go spend 5 or ten years working under a more capable chef before he is ready to be an executive chef.
