Reviewed By 2HungryWanderersThe room itself is not bad, but considering the high price and numerous problems we had our overall experience was terrible. We needed a fridge, so that was one of the reasons we chose this one. The one in the room didn't work, a staff member came and did nothing, but let us use part of the staff fridge for the night. The next day we came back to the hotel in the evening and the fridge wasn't fixed. After some tedious back and forth they "changed" it, but the "new" one didn't work either. There was a problem with the AC too. It is controlled by reception somehow, so for the second night we had to call them to turn it on in the evening. The real problem was that we woke up in the middle of the night sweating and had to call them at 4:40 am to switch it back on. Nobody explained why they switched it off. Very disappointing, considering the price range - we expected at least some level of normal service and at the end didn't have the main amenities that made us choose this hotel - AC and fridge.

Alone but not Lonely
Reviewed By LoriitsI was a solo traveler and stayed in the hotel for 3 wonderful nights. I didn't feel myself a stranger a minute as from the beginning I was met by a very kind, friendly and willing staff, particularly Gezmi who spoke English. It seemed I knew him for ages after having a heart warming talk with him. In an instant all fears disappeared and I felt safe and secure. The hotel was in absolute cleanness, beds were very comfortable, the view from the window was relaxing. The wifi worked perfectly. The breakfast was amazing with natural products. The price was more than reasonable. I strongly recommend anyone to stay here and enjoy their trip.

Reviewed By moviegeekjnBy far the best hotel our group has stayed in during our eastern Turkey visit. The beds are sturdy and comfortable and the rooms are reasonably spacious. A newer facility, the hot water, shower, toilet, etc. all function. And breakfast is fine; you can have baklavas with your tea and coffee!

Reviewed By IrlantilainenFamily run Otel Karaman is on a quiet sidestreet in central Tatvan, next to the Hotel Crater, 100m south of the PTT office. Small clean rooms with new bathrooms. Some have lake views. Very good kahvalti breakfast included. WiFi & 400 cable channels (but only one in English - Ch. 353) English speaking Owner/Manager Mecin and his son are very helpful with local advice. Beer, wine and spirits are available at the Carrefour next to the Post office. Excellent and inexpensive fish restaurant overlooking the shoreline and port on the top floor of the modern mall opposite the hotel. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By 617franckqThe worst welcome of our 3 week stay. To begin with, a cold and unpleasant welcome, the man in the suit looks us up and down. We are 3 close friends, 2 boys and a girl, we have booked a room with 3 single beds, and he tells us that it is not possible, that we will have two rooms, because our friend cannot sleep in the same room as us and that if it doesn't suit us, he can always cancel the reservation .. to hear that after 5 hours of days, it was just inconceivable. Then this cold and austere man leaves us in the hands of another man to take care of registering our passports, we had to wait 20 min .. arrived in the rooms, the carpet in the corridors laid without cutting, for a hotel supposedly *** that sucks. Once in the rooms, we feel the cold, a heating that does not work, when we tell the man it's cold, he retorts: "you have duvets .." she ashamed. we were cold all evening and night (8 degrees outside). Then the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom leaves something to be desired. Dust on the floor, bathroom more basic and in a deplorable state, only one small light on the ceiling, the toilet bowl broken, no heating in the bathroom, you might as well say that the shower step was an obstacle course. In short, we strongly advise against it.
