Along the main street of Bishop is a very prominent bakery which is always packed. However, locals themselves will tell you Great Basin is the place to go. Excellent advice!! Sandwiches are great. Fresh pies are outstanding (although have to be ordered 24 hours in advance.)
Looking forward to next trip to Bishop...

We offer locally raised seasonal produce and locally raised beef as options, serving only the best Bishop raised, grassfed all natural beef, or California certified angus. We make our own hamburger buns, and our own GLUTEN FREE buns right here. We also pride ourselves in serving our made from scratch ice creams, sauces, spice and seasoning mixes, and so much more. We source locally, organically, when availabe, and insist on top notch produce and goods year round. We contribute to our local community by participating in 3 or 4 fundraisers a year to worthy causes, donating 100% of proceeds during events. We offer an annual scholarship with the voluntary contributions from our B.Y.O.B corkage fee. THANK YOU for dining with us, you get a great meal and we do good work together!
Burger barn is a hippy type business located on the west side of Bishop. They have regular Angus beef, local grass fed beef and chicken. They prepare to order with exactly what you prefer on your burger. Great buns or lettuce for the gluten free....MoreThanks for the great review Chip, We all work hard to make our delicious food, and serve it as fast as we can, with friendly service. I'm going to enjoy sharing your review with the Staff. Sincerely, Sean, Chris, & Crew

Huge bakery emporium full of heavenly smells and edible temptations. We bought Sheepherder, Sourdough, and Cranberry White Chocolate breads, as well as a Cherry and an Apple Strudel. All were delicious, but my favorite was the original Sheepherder bread. Next time, I am going to try the Bacon Cheddar Cheese bread and some of the cookies! If you are in Bishop, you should stop here.

The carmelicious frappe was wonderful (get whipped cream on top!) and the spiced chai latte was amazing! The latte could of been a bit more hot...but it was pure creamy deliciousness. The girl behind the counter gave me great advice on choosing the spiced chai rather than the vanilla spiced, as that would of been more sweet. Very good drinks!

I'd heard about Mountain Rambler and stopped in for lunch recently. The outside is pretty non-descript but the inside is nice and airy, with long tables and a welcoming bar. You order at the end of the bar and your food and drink are brought out to you. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken sandwich - grilled chicken on ciabatta
with mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, cucumber, onion and tzatziki. Very tasty, and the fries I got with it were exceptional. I also got the Two Eagle Tripel, which was really good. I'd love to check out more of their brews, and their menu is more interesting than at most brewpubs - I'll definitely be back.

Something for everyone at this shop - delicious organic frozen yogurt (including vegan), Peet's coffee, pie, and WINE! All the food groups represented! Comfortable, air-conditioned seating inside, and a little outdoor area with tables/shade umbrellas if you have your dogs with you. Open til 10 pm weekdays, 11 pm weekends. Wish every little town had a spot like this.

This was our second time eating at Sage and once again, it didn't fail to be just wonderful. The salmon was the best I've had and my husband had a fillet that was to die for! We always try to eat here when visiting in the area.

Nothing special. It is just like every other Starbucks I have ever been to. We all got a drink, I got one with Hibiscus and berries since it was about 100 degrees out. It was pretty good, but for the size of cup, it was pretty expensive since it was mostly ice.

Zip code 93514. In recent years they opened a deli counter where sandwiches are made while-you-wait and you can take them out or eat them at the picnic tables inside the smoked-meat-shop. They continue to sell smoked meats, bacon, jerky, etc. in the grocery side of the shop.
If you are a carnivore, this place is for you. Deli sandwiches piled high with delicious meats, cheeses, veggies and fresh bread. Case upon case of smoked meats...bacon, jerky, hot links, salmon, cheeses...load up and take some up to Mammoth for snacks during your outdoor adventures and get enough for home.
