Very impressed with the friendly greeting, great atmosphere and excellent food. We all thought it was great and will certainly go back again soon. However we did have to wait a fair time for our food but it is obviously cooked fresh so is that a bad thing?

Found this place on Trip Advisor and loved it. Beautiful setting and presented to a very high standard inside and out.Staff were lovely, great choice of food, good value and well kept beers. We all enjoyed our meals though servings are big so good job we didnât go for starters, only one of us could fit in pudding and the sorbet was lovely. Will definitely be back when in the area again. And very dog friendly!

Mel and I come to Memories whenever we travel down to see my mother who lives locally. As usual, last night's visit was excellent, the main course 'special' was locally-caught fish cooked perfectly. As always, a friendly reception with good atmosphere. We were lucky, as we phoned to book earlier in the week and the restaurant was full, however, Naomi remembered our enquiry and called back when there had been cancellation, to offer us a table. The 'review' from 'good food hero' does not reflect my experience.

Having not been before we wanted to try their Sunday roast. We sat upstairs in the window seat on a sunny afternoon which was picture perfect. The Lamb and Vegetarian roast was superb and one of the best weâve ever eaten. The staff were helpful and efficient and we enjoyed the whole experience - highly recommended.

We go to the beaver on a regular basis as we are lucky to have a house in the village. Have not written a review for a few years now so time for an update. Itâs a great local with friendly staff with always a good atmosphere. The food has been fantastic on our last few visits and it is always consistently good. The skate wing and blackened salmon with noodles we had last night was top notch.

After an extensive refurbishment under taken by its new owners. The Royal George has finally reopened. You are warmly invited to come visit our waterside pub that serves delicious food with fantastic views.
I am lucky enough to live in Appledore and visit the Royal George weekly. Everyday their menu changes, (they only serve free range or organic locally sourced meat. I canât think of another place nearby that does that). The staff are always friendly, the decor is Nice and the view is breathtaking. The latest menu is the best yet. I am so pleased that I only have to walk five minutes to enjoy their food. On this occasion I invited my parents and my friends for a birthday lunch. We had to preorder which was easy to do. We arrived a bit early and the staff allowed us to bring a cake, balloons and table decorations. We enjoyed some drinks until the food arrived. All of it was perfect, my friends and family were very happy and I had a very relaxed birthday party. I could not recommend this venue enough. Thanks very much to the staff at the Royal George!

On a disappointingly damp Monday morning, our small party headed straight to this cafe to await a break in the weather. We ordered coffees, hot chocolate and Earl Grey tea. The drinks were great and they came up pretty quickly despite the fact that the cafe was so busy. My wife and I shared a huge slab of lemon sponge. It was light and fluffy with the creamiest topping. Our friends both had scones with jam and cream â it was disappointing that the gluten free scone was less than fresh. It was a very attractive café with lots of art work and knitted bunting which gave the place a certain quirkiness. There was just one toilet so at busy times there might be a queue. There was a garden with additional seating and a shop to the rear although we didnât makeit out there because of the weather.

The Flame Factory brings wood fired pizza, flame grilled burgers and rare bred Clovelly Longhorn steaks to the historic Appledore quay side Hello from the Flame Factory, we're not trying to be big; we're only in Appledore - family owned and run by Jayne,
Restaurant looks really nice and comfortable. We went in for a family evening meal but turned away despite there being a number of empty tables. Decided to order 3 takeaway pizzas instead. Incredibly overpriced, 2 of the pizzas were dripping with grease, base of pizza box was saturated in oil, meat feast and BBQ chicken. Don't appear to use mozzarella, rather cheddar cheese as a topping. For £34 for 3 takeaway pizzas, you would expect better quality.

I really can't praise this restaurant enough. Our party of 10 received a very warm welcome (from Caroline, I believe) who sat us in a most beautiful room, a bit like sitting in a friend's sitting room. We were given a welcoming cocktail and small welcoming bites which we all loved, followed by our starters. we were all looking at each other in shear delight at the wonderful tasting food, it's a bit pointless describing what they were as I believe they constantly change, nobody was disappointed. Then onto some of the best cooked mains we've had anywhere. Again, not a disappointment anywhere, we all loved the food. The pear tarte that followed, well, the best I've ever had!! Our party was to celebrate a 70th birthday, we all left knowing we'd chosen well and we will go back some day soon when are in the area. Prices are modest for the quality on offer, it doesn't get better than this, our thanks to Instow Barton

This beautiful family country pub set in an acre of land in the heart of North Devon countryside, offers a friendly meeting place to experience great food, fine wines, real ales and local ciders. Our two rosette kitchen wherever possible sources local pro
Booked a table here for Sunday lunch with family and our five dogs.Accessed by a narrow road but plenty of parking and road not that busy. Worth the journey.Met and shown to our table. Staff nice and friendly, place lovely and clean.Food, I ordered the pork bits in chilli and ginger as my starter. The best starter I have had in many a year. Tempura prawns was the other starter ordered and was just as good, not that either of us shared much with the others. The main meals where good too, clean plates for everyone. My wife chose the sticky toffee pudding. I was allowed a spoonful and that too was really nice.Lovely restaurant, beautiful food and with good service. Will certainly return, even if it is just for the pork bits.Thank you all.Thank you so much for your wonderful 5* review, we are so delighted you enjoyed your Sunday lunch with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon for the pork bites & perhaps your own portion of sticky toffee pudding!! Best wishes Susan
