I always try to find the local place when I travel and this was rated number one on Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint. Appeared to be nicely run family operation with outstanding customer service. I enjoyed some coffee while they prepared my Bacon, Ham, Mushroom and Onion Omelette. The Potatoes with my omelette were prepared just the way I like them, which is not always the case when I travel. Dark Rye Toast was delivered buttered nicely. Too much for me to finish, so I brought it home because it was too good to waste. Parking available in the strip mall parking lot. I would definitely visit when in the area again.

My husband and I had dinner at Firenze Trattoria last evening after visiting the nearby Peabody Essex Museum. The intimate setting was lovely. The service outstanding. And the food was superb. We shared a crostini appetizer (with four delicious toppings), for entrees my husband had the whole-fish branzino and I had the sumptuous linguini with cod, and we shared a bread pudding dessert. If you love Italian food, don't miss eating at Firenze Trattoria in Salem. Also, a great value! Our bill was less than $100!

We stopped in for lunch on a recent visit to the area. Nick's Roast Beed lived up to all of the rave reviews we had heard. Service was quick, ordering right away. Our sandwiches were made quickly. Prices were good. Everything was delcious! We will be back the next time we are in town.

This is the best place for seafood on the North Shore of Boston. The menu is diverse, and the value is there. I have never had a bad meal. The halibut special today was delicious.

Toscana Bar Italiano (Beverly) is a classically modern gastrobar which boasts award winning Italian cuisine, premium craft cocktails and martini's, and an extensive wine and beer selection in a friendly, casual neighborhood atmosphere. Conveniently located adjacent to the Beverly depot parking garage, unlimited parking for our patrons is available. Our sister restaurant, the original Toscana Ristorante of Peabody, MA is a staple and gold standard for Italian restaurants in the North Shore. With an emphasis on high quality ingredients, simplistic preparation, freshness and friendly service; Toscana Bar Italiano looks to bring the same core values to Beverly. At Toscana Bar Italiano of Beverly, we offer a dinner menu ranging from small plates, a large appetizer selection, grilled pizza's, pasta, salads and classic Italian dishes. Our cocktail menu features a range of drinks from classic martini's and house made ginger beer cocktails to Italian twisted tiki drinks and freshly muddled mojitos.
Good service, great Italian entrees, cozy atmosphere. We like sitting at the bar with a cocktail watching TV & talking w/ bartender.

Located in the Old London Coffee House, which dates back to the 1700s, Red’s Sandwich Shop has been visited by many Celebrities, Congressman, Senators and even First Lady Barbara Bush. A relaxed, friendlly atmosphere in a historic building is the perfect place to join Salem locals for the BEST breafkast and lunch menu in town. The food is delicious, all home-style cooking at pricing so reasonable you almost feel guilty. Having visited numerous restaurants in Salem that charge outrageous pricing for mediocre food, Red's Sandwich Shop is the crown jewel of the city in terms of excellent food, great prices, and a lovely environment with a friendly staff. They offer an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, Dinner Specials, and a daily $6.95 Special.. And when they say roasted Turkey, they mean roasted Turkey -- whole turkeys are roasted on the premises and carved for your order. In a tribute to Thanksgiving, their Home Style Turkey Sandwich (roasted Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and gravy) is out of this world! Wonderful specialty items from Chicken Marsala and Chicken Piccata to Chicken Pot Pie are made to order. Soups and chowders made fresh daily. For a variety of sandwiches from open-faced, to club, to roll-ups -- they cannot be beat. Red's is an award-winning restaurant that received the "BEST BREAKFAST ON THE NORTH SHORE" award for 24 years in a row! I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. If you have only one restaruant to visit in Salem, make it Red's.
We attempted to have a late lunch at "Reds" on a Monday afternoon based upon all the great reviews we read. We arrived 40 minutes before the kitchen was closing. The.Staff appeared irritated by our presence and we were glared at for several minutes prior to being offered seating. Perhaps we interrupted their rush to get their shift over and done with or perhaps they were irritated by the continuous running and screaming of the high energy 4 year old who seemed to either belong to, or somehow be the ultimate responsibility of, their less than pleasant hostess. However, my guess is that the staff just wanted out for the day. The hostess made a point to notify each customer who walked through the door after us as to how many minutes remained until closing. On the plus side, My Husband enjoyed one.of their specialty sandwiches, which I also tried and it was very good, however we both agreed that the meatloaf that I ordered was disgusting and Neither of us could eat it. Between the crunch of the egg shells and fibrous meat substance it was a ""no no to the meatloaf". On the bright side, the Waitress did apologize when I told her my meal was disgusting and neither one of us could eat the "mystery meat". Besides the "buy one meal ,throw the other in the trash deal", we also enjoyed being scolded by the hostess for attempting to pay with our debit card after not seeing the tiny sign buried amongst all the clutter that clearly read "cash only". If the opportunity presented itself, we might try this place again based upon the other consistently favorable reviews we have read, but if we did we would definitely be sure to bring our business to them earlier in the day so as not to inconvenience the staff who work there.

Authentic Mexican Street Food
La Victoria Taqueria is located right in the center of downtown Beverly just steps from City Hall and across the street from The Larcom theater.
This is a counter service place and extremely casual. For example, plastic utensils, tin trays, and very few tables.
We dined here one night prior to a show at the Larcom. You order food from a fairly limited menu that is posted on a sign above the order counter.
Our group sampled almost everything in the menu and the food was good, although cutting things with the flimsy plastic 'knives' was a challenge. (They might want to spring for slightly more sturdy knives) Prices are low and food was prepared quickly.
We occupied one of the 6 tables in the place.
If you are looking for a sit down meal with table side service this is not the place for you. If you want inexpensive Mexican food in a very casual setting in Beverly, this place could be a good find for you.

Enjoy a romantic dinner, or unwind after a busy day in Salem and try out our local cheeses, seafood and meats, while sipping on your favorite wines. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy our wine by the glass flights to compliment or contrast your palate, while a selection of specialty Ales is paired with our menu for those looking for a more robust beer experience.
We were staying in the Hawthorne Hotel on a Sunday evening a few weeks before Halloween so it was a bit crowded, even for a Sunday night. We went to the bar for a drink and some appetizers and it was nicely appointed and had no trouble getting a table to sit. Unfortunately the bar tender and server seemed either greatly understaffed or over matched in their duties as it took 2 minutes to get a drink even though there were less than 20 people in the bar. When we did get our appetizers a half hour later, I will say they were quite good. I do question the $20 price tag for 2 craft beers when we returned for a nightcap a few hours later, although I was able tog et them in less than 5 minutes!

Really nice place, with really good burgers, great onion rings and fries as well. Burgers are extra tasty, small crispy onion rings and I know its just fries, but these are some of the best ever. Nice atmosphere here as well, you really need to try this place!

We would return. They have a compact and generally well-executed menu, a good wine list, and even the dessert was good. We enjoyed the zucchini flowers, a pasta dish, a seafood stew (think ciopipno) and the recommended tiramisu. My only minor criticism would be that the salad accompanying the grilled octopus was very average, but most places don't give you anything with it, and we ate it without issue.
