Tharlo Tibetan restaurant is an owned Tibetan in Shangri-La Old Town. This restaurant provides authentic Amdo Tibetan and Shangri-La local foods. Currently, Tharlo is one of the most popular restaurants in Old Town for tourists.
Other restaurants have better food with (much) lower price. The Qing ke Bing is good. The beef pot is also quite good. However, never never never order the pork. It is tasteless, with a confusing texture. You will definitely have a remarkable memory after eating it.
SongZan LinKa is so comfortable, feels like at home. Their service is fully surrounding the needs of their guests, paying attention to every small details. I stayed here two nights with my college friends, we had unforgettable happy time here.

You are most certainly in for a special treat when you visit this charming restaurant. Entering past the traditional Tibetan entrance cloth into an intricately carved wooden paneled room adorned with artwork and artifacts sets the tone for your amazing meal. We feasted on delicious Yak meat pizza, noodle soup, barley bread and butter tea. But even more special was our interaction with the owners who became our new friends. What an amazing experience, one we will never forget. Highlight of our trip.

Three brother 's cafe is focusing on local tibetan food/indian /asian food, welcome all of guests come to enjoying the best food.
My wife and I had two days in Shangri-La (Zhongdian) in July 2018 as part of a 24 day private tour of China with Wendy Wu Tours. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this city visiting the magnificent Songzanlin Monastery, the Dukezong Old Town and a visit to a Tibetan Village where we visited a house and presented the owner with a small gift from Australia as a nice piece of cultural exchange. On the advice of our tour guide we had dinner on our second night in Shangri-La at The Three Brothers Café in the Old Town beside the town square. We enjoyed delightful Tibetan and Yunnan cuisine in a most relaxed atmosphere. We chose Stones Yak Meat and Chicken and Cashew Nut as our shared meal and it was beautifully cooked and very tasty. I chose to have a bottle of their Yunnan Red Wine which was quite acceptable and my wife tried a Tibetan Pale Ale beer to compliment the meal. My wife found the taste of her pale ale quite different to what she has been accustomed to. We really appreciated that the owners and the staff had a reasonable command of the English language â this made choosing our meal and drinks from the menu so much easier. It was also great to meet a few fellow Australians on this evening. Throughout our 24 day private trip there was hardly a westerner in sight. Being able to have a rare conversation with fellow Australians was an added bonus. A highlight was the Tibetan circle dancing performed by the villagers in the main town square which happens every evening and tourists are invited to join in if they wish. It was very easy to view from the verandah of the Cafe. The Cafe is located on the first floor of an attractive building and you have to navigate quite a steep set of stairs. However the climb is well worth the effort. From this verandah it was wonderful watching the dance circle grow by the minute and admire the dancersâ skilful techniques. This was indeed a memorable, relaxed dining experience for both of us in this charming place called Shangri-La. The Three Brothers Café is highly recommended as a great place to unwind and enjoy a great meal. .

Weâd been in China for a few weeks and as good as the local food had been, I was so ready for a great burger. Flying Tigers didnât disappoint. The Yak burger I had here was delicious and accompanied with fries and a bottle of merlot provided the perfect remedy to my yearnings for western food. A must!
